It depends on where you buy it; if you buy it new, it should come with the Wilton sheet and decorating instructions; if you buy it used on Amazon, some of them don't; the one I bought and am now selling didn't. The instructions for the Wilton part number can be found on their website, which is more convenient than the paper. I also looked up images of the item on the internet to see what other people had done with it and came up with my own method.
These cakes are usually not very tall. You could do it, but I'd suggest using a tool designed for the purpose.
The cake is exactly the same size as it was when it was taken out of the pan. It is 13, according to the measurements. 75" long
Hello! This frying pan was made in Indonesia.

I made a Minnie cake with the Mickey pan. It turned out to be quite adorable. I'm not a baker, but as long as you have the time and patience, it's essentially paint by numbers. The only thing I didn't like about the cake was how thin it was. I used the entire box of cake mix and had read that filling the pan more than halfway would cause it to overflow. I thought I'd have to do a lot of leveling because one box of white cake mix filled the pan a little more than halfway, but it came out thinner than I wanted and didn't bake evenly. I don't think it's the pan's fault; instead, it's most likely user error. In retrospect, I should have baked a test cake to determine the exact amount of batter I'd require. Because this is a time-consuming process, I baked the cake one evening and let it cool overnight before decorating the next day and storing it in the refrigerator until the party the next day. For me, this was effective.
Because my son is obsessed with Disney Cars, we decided to do a car theme for his third birthday. I used the Lightning McQueen pan to make him a cake, and he loved it! It wasn't easy, but the instructions that came with the pan were extremely helpful in directing me as to which parts of the icing should be applied in which order. To make this, I used a box of regular cake mix. I didn't use the exact icing recommended in the directions (instead, I used a tube of premade black icing and two tubs of premade vanilla icing, tinting the colors with gel food coloring). Piping bags were used to apply the majority of the icing, including the black icing. I was able to smooth them out with my finger and a very small amount of water for the parts that did not require piping bags. I think it turned out pretty well considering it was my first time doing something like this and the fact that I am not a professional cake decorator. br>br>I also used this cake pan to make jello, which my son enjoyed.
The cake came out beautifully, but it was significantly narrower than I had anticipated. It's unlikely to feed more than 12 people. I ultimately purchased a 10x15 sheet cake pan and layered the McQueen cake on top of another sheet cake. Aside from that, the decorating instructions are essentially paint-by-numbers. numbers. I took FOREVER to finish it. It takes time to mix all of the colors, and then they want you to use the same tip for like five different colors when it comes to decorating. So unless you have multiples of the same tip, you're either washing a lot or using different tips (as I did). I'm happy with the outcome, but it wasn't easy.
I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of this cake pan. The cake bakes perfectly in it, and when you take it out (properly), you can see all of the lines and indents that you'll need to decorate it. Step-by-step instructions were something I didn't anticipate. Step-by-step instructions on how to decorate the cake and which products/dyes to purchase are included with the pan. This was my first time decorating a cake like this (for a 1st birthday smash cake), and the instructions (along with the assistance of my local True Value, which sells Wilton products) were extremely helpful. The cake was a hit, and even though it took me two hours to decorate and two minutes for my child to devour it, it was well worth it!.
Despite the fact that the pan was well packaged and arrived in a large Amazon box by itself, it was bent in the middle, causing it to be wonky. Because aluminum is so light, it's difficult to bend it back to its original shape without causing a crinkle in the design. The design was exactly what we were looking for for my grandson's fourth birthday, and the price was reasonable; however, it did not work out for us. The aluminum cake pan was between disposable foil pans and a regular metal cake pan in terms of thickness and weight. The return process was straightforward, and I had no issues receiving my refund or credit.
This pan appears to be beautiful in the photo, but it is actually quite strange. It was impossible to decorate because of the perspective. The photo insert was placed face up in the pan and was a reverse image when the actual cake was released; it wasn't strictly 2 dimensional, so it felt like the cake needed to stand up to get the full effect. As a result, it was difficult to use as a template. I guess the diagram with the numbers on the backside was supposed to be used, which was a mistake. I had the impression that whoever created this pan and instructions had never made a character cake before. My pan, as well as the improbable template, are going to be sold at a yard sale. It was the last time I used it.
I'm glad it arrived ahead of schedule. The pan isn't quite as thick and durable as I had hoped. The instructions for using the pan and decorating it are both simple to understand. I didn't have the landmarks for the outlines because the bottom of my cake stuck to the bottom of the pan (despite the fact that I greased and floured it), so I used the insert as a guide instead. I didn't have any of the Wilton piping tips and don't think they're necessary. There are also instructions for a smooth application, which I believe I followed correctly. My two-year-old and four-year-old were content, which was the main goal!.
This cake pan served its purpose admirably. There are also instructions for coloring the frosting and frosting the cake! I recommend mixing some brown into the skin-colored frosting rather than just the copper gel because the copper gel turns it pinkish and the brown balances it out. AND I started with a chocolate frosting for Mickie's black part. To get the color black enough, I used half of a small container of black gel food coloring. A video on how to decorate the cake can be found on YouTube. And here's how to use gel to tint buttercream. I also used Wilton gel (as seen in the Wilton videos). I hope this information is useful.
