I'm sitting here eating another corner piece and wondering why I bought this pan in the first place. I spent money I didn't need to spend on the pan and the wonderful silicone lid that fits it perfectly. It was also a mistake, in my opinion. I used to make brownies from scratch because I don't use box mixes, and my children and husband devoured them. I'd just trim the edges off here and there, eat a corner piece every now and then, and savor the chewy goodness. But now that I've tried out this pan, I'm sitting here eating about half of the brownies I made. It was a seamless transition. This is the same recipe I use in a 9x13 pan, and it fit perfectly in this pan as well. Using the cute little spatula that comes with it, I greased and lightly floured the pan, and the brownies simply pop right out. What, on the other hand, will not be cute or small? This pan has helped me a lot. These are made with your hands in mind. I think these are the most delectable brownies I've ever made. I considered purchasing this pan a few years ago but never did, but I should have - It was a total success.
I first saw this pan in a video about useless kitchen gadgets that Elton Brown posted on YouTube. While he was correct about almost everything else he demonstrated, he was completely incorrect about this pan. In the video, he showed the pan's Amazon listing, which was current at the time (December). It received 500 reviews and a 4 out of 5 star rating in 2015. 5 out of 5 stars. He could only offer one criticism: specialty items should not be kept in the kitchen. That may be true if you live in a Tokyo-sized apartment, but not so much in a typical suburban home. I'm a big fan of edge brownies, so when I saw this pan, I had to have it. It's made of cast aluminum in the United States and does exactly what Baker's Edge claims. It's been almost two years since I bought it, and I'd buy it again in a heartbeat.
My daughter will eat all of the brownie edges, leaving a large brownie in the center of my pan, so I bought this pan. However, after three uses, I've discovered that it doesn't really cook the brownie with great edges, despite the fact that that is the point. Instead of edges with a bit of density and bite (I'm sure you all know what I'm talking about! ), I went with smooth edges with a bit of density and bite. ), brownies baked in this pan have the same texture on the edges as the rest of the brownie. At the edge, there is no discernible difference. Unfortunately, it isn't really useful.
The materials are long-lasting, and the pan is heavy and sturdy. You do get all chewy edges as promised, which is great, but I'm not impressed with the pan for the price; I did find it difficult to evenly distribute the batter due to the pattern of the pan, so my brownies rose more on one side than the other. I also found it difficult to cut with the spatula, which appeared to have a sharp edge but took several attempts to cut through and separate them. Overall, it does what it claims to do if you want chewy edges on every brownie, but I didn't think it was worth the money for the price.
Then, using the plastic spatula that came with it, loosen all of the sides, then flip the pan over onto a counter or cookie sheet to remove them and cut them. I had no trouble removing them from the pan, and it washed up beautifully.
We've successfully launched. The pan has a medium weight to it. I unpacked it, washed it, and had my first batch ready in less than 5 hours. )br>Now it's time to put your imagination to work.
So I emailed the company, and they promptly responded, offering me a free replacement pan! br>br>Wow, that's fantastic customer service! I finally used the pan to make brownies, and they turned out fantastically! They were a hit with my husband, and everyone kept asking where I got the pan! It's extremely durable and well-made. I would strongly advise you to use it!.
This is a fantastic American-made product; I've been making brownies for 45 years and this is by far the best brownie pan I've ever used. For the serious baker, this book is a must-have.
