It was a nice looking accent for the home at a reasonable price, and it arrived as advertised with the exception of one quarter-inch. I sanded away a sizeable rough spot on the underside (did they have a quality-control inspection?). who is the person who is checking? What irritated me was their installation guide, which contained a major error. Apart from the poor quality of the illustration, it instructs you to mark the holes by turning the shelf upside down, but it would not match the holes you had just marked when you turned it right up because it has one hole on one edge and two on the other. I only realized this after drilling a single hole in the wall to prevent further damage, so be cautious not to follow their instructions.
Wall shelves made of oak, 8" high. Both the wood and the workmanship are of excellent quality. Installation was simple, but, as others have stated, the included hardware was not heavy enough to hold the shelf firmly against the wall if it was not mounted directly to a stud. If mounting to a stud, the included screws should suffice and the shelf should be able to support the weight stated in the description. One shelf was attached to a wall stud with included screws, while the other was attached to hollow dry wall with supplied screws but no anchors. I used heavier hollow wall anchors that I had on hand. The oak is of excellent quality, and the grain is particularly appealing. One had more grain than the other, but they're both very nice; they're well put together, sanded smooth and level, and appear to have a light coat of oil on them. (I'm not sure. ) I'd like to place another order!.
br>br>********BEWARE THIS DOES NOT WORK************
br>br>After drilling almost 4 x 1/2 inch holes in my wall, I followed the instructions to the letter. When I flipped it back over the right way, I noticed the holes didn't line up. Regardless, I drilled additional holes in the proper manner, and two of the four screws stripped incredibly easily! So I started removing the screws, but one of them bent and became useless. br>br>At this point, I was so frustrated that I just threw it out. I wouldn't be so upset if the price on this shelf was closer to $15. However, I paid $32 for a product that came with erroneous instructions and dirt-cheap hardware.
This small shelf was the ideal size for the space I had available. The finish is nice and warm. Everything you'll need to put it up is included in the package. Because the holes are so small and the wood slides, it's difficult to keep drywall level during installation. Operator error should not be a deterrent to using this product, in my opinion.
It's the perfect size for my lava lamp.
It looks fantastic! The wood is solid and has a lovely finish, and it looks great under our wall-mounted bedroom television to store television accessories. There's not a lot of room here, so double-check the measurements. Installing was simple for someone who knows how to properly hang things (I needed their assistance).
The shelf is solid wood, not particle board, and has a nice color and solid feel to it when installed.
The staining is exquisite. It was a perfect fit for the nook. I bought two of these so that I could put a wifi router on one and a modem on the other shelf. It looks fantastic and performs admirably. I would strongly suggest it.
