I can sit on it, and I'm 165 pounds. I wouldn't be able to stand on it for long because the three legs are solid - However, it is not ideal for use as a step stool.
Each piece is finished in a natural teak wood finish that is distinct from the others. Hardwood species like oak, mahogany, and cherry wood have a similar color range.
All of our teak comes from Indonesian teak plantations. br>In order to maintain sustainably harvested Teak Wood, we follow the Indonesian Green program.
My shower isn't that big (4 x 2), so this fits perfectly in the corner and doesn't get in the way. The bottom shelf also helps with storage and looks great.

It looked great at first, but one of the boards quickly became moldy. No amount of cleaning has made a difference. A couple of the boards absorb water and quickly become moldy. Embarrassing and unfit.
This bench was only used for a year and a half. It should have lasted a long time for the money spent. It had rotted in all of the joints and could not be seen with the naked eye. I sat on it, and it gave way - Fortunately, I did not sustain any serious injuries - A couple of nasty bruises were all that was left. We are very particular about cleanliness, so after each shower, we squeegee both the shower and the stool, and the shower door is left open to dry completely. Given that it was designed for use in the shower, there was no reason for it to fall apart the way it did! Very dissatisfied.
I purchased two of these to use in custom tile showers. I didn't want built-in benches in the showers because my house is older and the bathrooms are smaller than those in newer homes. I also like how the wood contrasts with my oversized, textured white subway tiles. The only issue I have is that one of the adjustable legs is too short; however, any of the three legs can be unscrewed to make the stool more stable. The screw in one shower was too short to keep the stool in place. I thought it might be the way my shower pan was installed, but I switched them and it still happened, indicating that one of the screws is too short; I'll contact the company to see if they have a longer screw. They arrived in excellent condition.
I needed something small (which this is), something that wouldn't leave a stain on my shower floor (like some of the other products mentioned in reviews), and something that was reasonably priced (this stool is reasonably priced compared to other, similar items). The claim that it was made with local, indigenous labor in a developing country was an appealing selling point for this item. The care with which this stool was packed astounded me when it arrived. Teak with a "natural" look and no visible stains. The leveling screws worked perfectly, and the stool now sits perfectly level in our shower corner. All I needed was a small stool to help me shave my legs in the shower - That's exactly what this is for. If you need a stepping stool, I wouldn't recommend it. In comparison to the competition, it is reasonably priced, and it is delivered quickly (even just before Christmas, which I did not anticipate). I'd give this shower stool a perfect score of six stars if I could!.
It was the most cost-effective option and the ideal size for our needs. WE APPRECIATE IT! The only thing I regret is that I did not purchase it sooner. In a small space, the shelf provides additional storage. The adjustable rubber feet were a great feature because our shower has a slanted floor, so the stool is the perfect height for shaving legs, washing feet, and so on. The stool is sturdy and well-made. We are extremely pleased with both the product's quality and its cost.
I was pleased with the purchase after almost a month of normal use, until I noticed that the front of the unit was cracked. Because the glue is supposed to be stronger than the wood, the joint failed at the glue joint, which usually means it wasn't properly joined. br>br>I didn't want to go through the hassle of registering a product for a warranty before the Amazon return window closed, so I returned it.
The shelf is just big enough to hold a few extra items without being too bulky or taking up too much space on the floor. But, more importantly, I believe it to be of exceptional craftsmanship and beautifully constructed, especially in light of the low-quality items being sold on Amazon these days. I believe this is my wife's Amazon account, but to give you some background, I work in the millwork industry and enjoy making things out of wood when I have free time; to give you even more background, I paid $25 to return a different item I had purchased prior to this one, and I am glad I did because I am glad I returned that one and spent the extra money on this one.
This is absolutely stunning. The quality and attention to detail are excellent. It's silky smooth and has a soft satin sheen. At the top, there is a larger piece of wood. Rubber feet that can be adjusted are a must-have and greatly appreciated. Small enough to avoid crowding a bathtub when converting to a shower. It had only been two days since it had arrived and I had yet to open it. Last night, I saw one at Costco for slightly less money and slightly larger, and I dashed home to compare. The winner is this one! It was money well spent. This is the piece of teak furniture you've been looking for in your shower to hold your shower products while also serving as a stable foot stool for shaving legs. Lovely.
