The screen does, in fact, remain illuminated. However, I ran into the same problem as you, so we turned the clock around so the back was facing out. The clock on the ceiling was then turned upside down. We aren't even aware of the clock's light!
Atomic time does not have a receiver in this.
The projector must be plugged in 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
The clock's LED numbers fade out during the day, but it has an adjustable backlight that I don't use. The red projection that I have aimed at the ceiling is the best feature for me.

Now all I have to do is open my eyes and look up at my ceiling to see the time written in large red numbers. My dog has learned to read the ceiling numbers while lying on her back, and she now knows when her snacks and meals are due. Seriously, for the price, I think this clock is fantastic. It performs admirably once you've mastered the positioning. The size of the numbers can be changed by moving it around. In the dark, they glow a brilliant red. You'll love this one if you're like me and can't bear looking at the one on your nightstand. It can be used for other purposes as well, but I wanted it for the ceiling feature. This is what the lazy people do.
The timepiece is adequate. In the middle of the night, all I needed was a clear projection of the current time above my bed. Without any unnecessary (expensive) extra features, this unit does an excellent job. I already have a nice bedside clock, so the fact that this one is only fair didn't bother me. br>br>With this type of projection clock, I've learned over the years that all I want is the projected time. There was no outdoor temperature (which made staying connected a nightmare, and a 5-minute drive away). No automatic radio-no second wait until I can see the time on the ceiling), and no automatic radio-no automatic radio-no automatic radio-no automatic radio-n (Again, this is a challenge). The projected time had to be rotatable in 90-minute increments as well. Steps in degrees The reason for this is that You'll need the image at right-center if you want to center the projection over the bed. the clock's face at an oblique angle br>br>This is one of the few clocks from reputable sources (LaCrosse and Oregon Scientific) that meets those criteria. It's also a lot of fun. cheap. br>br>The brightness of the projection is easily four times that of my previous unit. It smoothly rotates and focuses. At night, it's big enough for me to read without my glasses. br>br>Because the location of the projected time is so important to me, I can't just put the clock on the nightstand; it's too light to stay put. After experimenting with angles and placement, I decided to hang the clock on the side of the nightstand, as shown in the photo. I dim the clock face illumination (which has four levels of brightness, from off to brightest). I'll take the clock off and change the time setting in a matter of seconds twice a year, when daylight savings time changes. The buttons for that are well-marked and simple to operate. br>br>I tried it as a bedside clock for a few minutes, but the screen is so cluttered and the time font is so small that I couldn't read it without my glasses. This clock is much nicer than my old bedside clock. br>br>I like it a lot. But my reasons might not be the same as yours!.
It really works. Because the projection is red, it will not keep you awake. It is also the only projection I found that could be rotated completely around, allowing the time to be adjusted no matter where the clock was placed. There's also a zoom or focus dial to help you see things better. The brightness of the clock's display light can also be adjusted. Ours is set to a low brightness so that it does not "glow" too brightly at night. I can't see it very well during the day, but I don't have to.
The idea of being able to read the time in the middle of the night appeals to me. I'm disabled, and when I wake up, I like to know what time it is, but it's 5 a. m. in the pictures. 32, and the numbers appear to be inebriated. Then 5: When 33 arrives, it does not appear to be inebriated. At 1: The number one wasn't even there this morning at 15 a. m. In the spot where the one should have been, there was a dot. When I woke up a few nights ago and saw no numbers in the seconds area, I thought it was a fluke and assumed it was due to my being awake in the middle of the night. However, the majority of the time, the numbers appear normal, and the only time I can see the numbers is at night, so Go figure.
DON'T THROW YOUR MONEY AWAY! The clock stopped working two days after I received this purchase on April 6, 2018, two days after Amazon's 30-day return policy expired. This brand of projection clock is not one we would recommend.
There was no base included with the clock. La Crosse has been contacted. They didn't return my call for two days. It is to be attached to the clock's base, according to them. It isn't, and the instructions state that the base should be attached in the first step. She said I could go back to Amazon or wait for someone to return a clock and have it cleaned and sent to me- They have no idea when someone will return, so the wait is indefinite. As a result, I now have to deal with the hassle of returning and repurchasing- This brand, on the other hand, has terrible customer service!.
The lights are nice, and they show the numbers clearly on the ceiling of my bedroom. br>Adjustments are simple, but the user manual's explanations are a little confusing. br>Requires a constant power outlet plug-in to show projection (numbers), and if the adapter is unplugged, the projection is lost; however, if you use batteries, you won't be able to adjust the clock and time again. You can set a wake-up time, but I didn't care for the ring tone, which was a little too annoying. br>Overall size is good, especially since I don't like big clocks, so this is ideal if you don't like them. br>Reading time numbers on the screen is simple, but the date, temperature, and humidity are small but adequate. br>The screen's light is also adjustable, so you can dim or brighten it like a dimmable light.
The clock is in good working order, but the image projected on the ceiling is a little blurry. I tried adjusting the projection part with the wheel on the side, but it didn't work.
