No, not at all. The batteries are essentially for backup, so it will keep time even if it is not plugged in, but the display will be blank. I'm guessing the alarm functions aren't going to work.
Yes, I turned off the alarm after hitting the snooze button four times.

It *wasn't* difficult to use or maintain! *UPDATE* The month of February has arrived. I got this as a Christmas present, and it worked fine until recently, when it switched from am to pm. So, if you want to get up at 6 a. m. , your alarm clock will now go off at 6 p. m. I haven't changed any settings, but it seems to have switched on its own (which is odd). In a nutshell, it refutes everything I said in my original post. br>br>I bought this for my oldest daughter, who has reached the stage of preteenhood where she wants to sleep in until 11 a. m. This alarm clock makes a LOT of noise! It's not something you'll be able to fall asleep to. This clock has a dimmer setting, which means it could be used as a night light. It dims to the point where it doesn't keep you awake at night. There are two presets, allowing you to set two different alarms, which is convenient for me as a novice morning person. She jumped out of bed, turned off the computer, and went about her morning routine without needing me to wake her up! Here's to a happy mother! I'm giving it a five-star rating because it made my hectic online school mornings a little bit easier! Thank you to the company for creating a user-friendly, adaptable piece that a ten-year-old can easily maneuver around without my help! If you're looking for a unique way to.
The device is functional. The blue isn't distracting, and the brightness can be easily adjusted. My only gripe is the brick, which includes a clock with the thinnest wiring I've seen since angel hair pasta. However, the timepiece continues to function. The manufacturer makes it clear that this is an electric clock rather than a battery-operated clock. The AAA batteries required are for setting backup.
After we upgraded to the new FIOS boxes, which no longer have Time/Channel displays, I purchased this to place on top of the Cable box in the living room. Thanks a lot for the improved boxes! )br>br>Anyway, because you can't see the analog wall clock when you dim/turn off the lights to enjoy some TV time, this Wide-Eyed Clock is PERFECT as a LARGE display on top of our entertainment center. As a result, he'll look great in any setting. br>br>Because I don't use it, I can't really comment on its dimmed display. For a bedroom clock, the bright display may be a little much. The unit is fantastic!.
This was purchased for a loved one who has trouble sleeping. He loves it after a week of use because he can adjust the alarm volume and it has a USB port where he can charge his phone at night. The clock's only real flaw is that it feels cheap, and he's not sure how well it would hold up in the event of a mishap. There are no complaints about the ease with which the buttons are navigated, the size of the snooze button, or the brightness of the display. For the price, I would recommend it.
I ordered another one before I even plugged it in because this piece of electronic pop art is so nice. When room lighting degrades visibility, bold white numbers on a stark black surround are unbeatable, especially when you have the option of bright or muted clock numbers. Add in a USB port for a cell phone, and holy cow!.
This was ideal because it is visible but not distracting from the television. The brightness can be adjusted, and it also has a radio, which I don't use, so I can't comment on how it works.
Whether you believe it or not, we still have a VCR. When we're watching TV in the living room, we rely on its clock. Unfortunately, one of the remote's buttons has stopped working, and it is the one that is required to update the clock. We'll have to do that every time there's a power outage (which happens a lot in Florida), so we went with a small digital clock to keep things simple. It is large and easy to read, so we put it in front of the VCR. We're still asking each other what time it is, then laughing because it's a lot bigger than the VCR panel.
This is an excellent clock. I really like the color blue. I can adjust the brightness of the numbers so that they don't wake me up in the middle of the night. The ability to charge my iPhone at night is extremely convenient.
