I have dysautonomia and suffer from tachycardia and hypotension. I had episodes despite medications and other treatments. When I'm feeling under the weather, I keep these on hand and chew one or two of them. It's been an excellent addition to my medical regimen.

Phantom Ranch, at the bottom of the Grand Canyon, was where I first encountered these tablets. In December 2018, I hiked down for a two-night stay and was cramping up at bedtime, so a fellow hiker offered me some of these tablets. My leg cramps vanished almost instantly after chewing just one. I was so taken aback that I took one more just to be safe. A fellow hiker gave me six tablets for the hike out, and I hiked out two days later. That's a ten-mile hike with a 6,000-foot gain in elevation. On these hikes, I always bring electrolyte replacement fluids, but this tablet was far superior to any I've ever taken; I never cramped, had plenty of energy, and finished in 6 hours and 20 minutes. I also gave these to my 82-year-old mother, who suffers from night leg cramps, and she reports that they are no longer present. I suffer from night leg cramps as well, and these have been extremely beneficial. br>I gave half a tablet to my teenage son, who was cramping after a 90-minute workout on the elliptical at the YMCA, and he claimed his leg cramps went away right away. In June, we'll be doing a three-day rim-to-rim trip, and these will undoubtedly accompany us.

I've been running for over 5 years, but only started tracking my weekly mileage about a year ago (I was only doing 16 miles per week at the time, and now I'm up to around 30 miles per week). I live in South Florida, where it is extremely hot for the majority of the year, making long runs extremely difficult. I spent the last few months training for the Miami Half Marathon and feeling good and ready for the race, but on race day the weather got hot and I was sweating so much that I didn't realize my GUs and water weren't doing enough to replace my lost sodium, and I had to start taking walking breaks around mile 10 until I started experiencing all of the symptoms of hyponatremia (low sodium-related illness). consternation, exhaustion, and a headache). I set a goal for myself to complete the half-marathon. It took 2 hours 13 minutes to complete the marathon in under 2 hours. After that, I became enraged and began researching what had occurred until I spoke with a few professional runners who mentioned salt pills. I discovered these pills and decided to run another half marathon with my wife last Sunday (305 Half Marathon). I took two pills 30 minutes prior to the race, two pills at mile four, and two pills every three miles after that. Between the salt pills, I took my GUs after mile 4 and felt great the rest of the race (temp was about the same as the first). I don't believe you can ever attribute your success in any sport event to a single factor, but I do believe this was a major factor in how I felt during my race. After all was said and done, I came in first with a time of 1:45. I was only shooting for a 2:24 this time. 05 goal. I'm now taking these pills on any run over 8 miles in hot weather, which is all of my Saturday runs; keep in mind that not everyone loses sodium at the same rate through perspiration, so this will make a difference for people like me who sweat a lot. My wife runs with me every day and is almost completely dry at the end of a 10 mile run in temperatures above 80 degrees, which is why she does not require these pills. br>br>Before trying this, I tried GUs, sports drinks, other gels, and other similar products but couldn't find anything that really helped me fight fatigue on hot days, so it was a case of trial and error until I found something that worked. Dysautonomia / POTS prevents me from absorbing and retaining electrolytes. For me, this is preferable to liquid. Some salt tabs and electrolytes contain sulfer compound, which causes me to react because I am unable to metabolize sulfer. As a result, this is an excellent product for me. The only thing I would change is that there should be no citric acid in the recipe. It's unnecessary, and it's a synthetic source, which I find difficult to work with.

The electrolyte balance and hydration are restored with these chewable tablets. I have an autoimmune disorder that makes me feel groggy and tired all of the time, but I don't know what it is.
