I'm a middle-aged man who recently made the decision to grow a medium-length beard. This is my first foray into the world of beard products, and I have a size Van Dyke type beard (3 settings on my new Remington trimmer). This shampoo lathers well, and the coal tar scent is light and masculine, dissipating almost immediately after washing, which I like. It makes my hair softer, more pliant, and less prone to stray hairs. It also helped me get rid of the itch I used to get before I used it. It's also appealing to me because it's about as all-encompassing as it gets. Because I've had some facial allergy issues in the past, I wanted something as natural as possible. It was also reasonably priced. priced. My beard is now presentable to the world, thanks to their Mountain Beard Oil, which I also enjoy, as well as a new boar's hair brush, beard comb, and Remington trimmer. br>br>I discovered the bottle's inner dispenser top constantly coming out when the top is unscrewed, which is a pain in the shower, as many others have mentioned, but can be avoided if you only tighten the cap gently until it no longer turns, but not torque or over-tightening it. It should be tightened. This, at least in my experience, keeps the cap from making contact with the inner dispenser piece and pulling it out.
As a ginger, I have a stiff, wiry beard that I would readily compare to actual copper wire, and splinters of my beard hair that must be removed with tweezers are a common occurrence for me and my family. br>br>I tried a small bottle of this stuff a few years ago and wanted to see if it still worked as well as I remembered. It did. Using a pea-sized amount of water and a pea-sized amount of detergent A pea-sized drop per day makes my beard soft and smooth, to the point where I'm not sure it's true, but the splinters are no longer an issue. I'm a bit of a miser, so I rarely buy anything other than food, and I'm frequently dissatisfied with such purchases, but I'm completely satisfied with this beard wash and would recommend it to anyone. br>br>It took a few days for me to get used to the scent. It has an earthy, eucalyptus-like scent that is strong during washing but fades quickly, so it doesn't bother me.
Look no further if you have beard dandruff and are looking for a product to help you get rid of it. I've been looking for something like this for years, and I've finally found it! br>br>Tip - If you're looking for a unique way to express yourself, try using the words "innovative" First, exfoliate the skin beneath your beard, and then use this to remove and prevent dry skin. br>br>I bought the "Pine Tar" scent, and while you can smell it while using it, it doesn't last long - That is a plus in my book. (Anyone who can smell my beard is probably too close to me. )br>br>I should also mention that I use this product in conjunction with beard oil, so I'm not sure how well it works on its own, but I can say that the dandruff is gone after washing my beard with this shampoo.
My beard is only washed 2 times a week. I use it three times a week (as recommended by the majority of "experts"), and it appears that this wash will last me a lifetime; I like the pine tar scent, but I can see how it might not be for everyone. They make a lot of different scents, which is fortunate. When I run out of the oil/balm/etc. , I will definitely buy more Mountaineer Brand products.
The scent isn't my favorite, but it isn't overpowering and wears off quickly. The results, on the other hand, cannot be denied. My beard is softer and more manageable than when I used regular shampoo on it; in fact, I don't think it's ever been this soft in the 16 years I've had a beard, even when I used a balm every day. Because my beard is very coarse, I use the shampoo every day, and the bottle appears to last me 6 months. My beard is currently about 4' long, but I'm considering growing it out again now that it's so much easier to manage.
I've always thought of Mountaineer as a good value brand; it's not the best, but it doesn't break the bank to give you a good product. I chose the Coal scent because it's the one I've used before. It appeals to me a great deal. My beard felt silky smooth afterward. If you're not going to condition your beard or use a beard oil right after, don't use a beard wash or any type of shampoo. That may appear to be common sense, but it isn't. I wash my beard at least twice a week, if not three times. br>br>I haven't seen any of the cap issues mentioned by others. It's possible that the cap has been switched between here and there.
First and foremost, I must say that I adore this wash. br>br>The scent is pleasant and lasts a short time in the beard; in fact, my facial hair practically begged me to use it because it was so soft and clean. My skin feels MUCH better after only TWO washes, even though I'm a regular sufferer of beardruff. br>br>The bottle's packaging is the ONLY drawback. The beard wash comes out of a much smaller hole in the bottle's opening, rather than dumping all over the place like your body after Taco Bell. When I open the bottle, the insert keeps coming out of the top and getting stuck in the cap, so I'm going to throw it away and hope for the best. br>br>All-in-all, I'll be throwing away the little insert and hoping for the best. br>br> All in all, this is an excellent product that I would recommend to anyone.
This is something I'm going to tell you. It only takes a penny-sized drop of this! This soap lathers up nicely. Leaves my beard feeling clean, as well as the skin beneath my beard. The scent of pine tar is pleasant. It's a little potent right out of the bottle, but it's not overpowering. Most importantly, it keeps my beard in check and under control. It also does a good job of softening the hair.
