For the money, this set-up isn't half bad. When the item arrived, it was in excellent condition. The bowl is fairly standard, and it produces a lather in the same manner as any other non-textured bowl. But what about the brush? At this price, the brush is a steal; it's not great, but for the price of the entire kit, it's a steal. I was actually taken aback by the brush. If you don't want to spend a lot of money or you're just getting started with wet shaving, this soap lathers well, isn't too firm, and appears to last a long time. This is an excellent alternative. Wet shavers who are serious and experienced should move on. This isn't going to pique your interest.
After only a week of use, the head was already beginning to wobble. The bristles are completely incapable of retaining the heat generated by the hot water. It doesn't even apply an even or thick layer of protection. This purchase was a complete waste of money for me.
The stand itself is adequate, but it appears to be a bit flimsy. After just one use, the brush had completely disintegrated. This is something I would never buy again.
Both the bowl and the stand are fantastic. The brush isn't up to par. In comparison to another one I made out of real animal hair, the bristles appear to be made of plastic. The bristles are thicker and don't flex as much as they used to. Overall, it's a good set for the money; the only difference you'll notice is if you've ever used a real shaving brush.
Brushing isn't necessary. It's a well-made bowl. A little shaky on the stand. The brush has a small knot in it and is a little stiff for badger hair. After several uses, the lather is okay but a little scratchy. However, if you're looking for a cheap way to see if you like wet shaving, this is a good option.
I bought this as a gift for a friend, and he loved it.
It's a very nice way to take care of my daily shaving chores. Separately, I purchased a soap puck, which fit perfectly in the bowl. The bristles are soft and produce a lot of lather. I like how it's made of stainless steel and how it fits into my standard-sized wall medicine cabinet.
I was trying to learn how to shave with a straight razor and needed the proper equipment. Although the kit was smaller than I had anticipated, everything worked out perfectly. It was well worth the money, in my opinion. It brbr>does a fantastic job. I had the best straight razor shave I'd ever had, and there were no cats.
