I'm not sure, the brush is nice, but after about 6 months, the bowl began to rust.
The stand and bowl are, in fact, made of stainless steel:
I'm not sure what I'm saying. My husband is a big fan of the metal bowl that came with the set.
It's a little bigger, measuring around 82mm/3. Updated version of 23 inches:

" I bought a Proraso Boar's Bristle Brush about two years ago. a very high level of quality, and at least two. Here on Amazon, you can get one that is 5x the size of this one for less than $20. I bought it because 1) I have faith in the Proraso brand - I use all of their shaving products, and they are, in my opinion, the best available. (Preshave, aftershave lotions/balms, and their Shaving soap and creams in old-fashioned tooth paste squeeze tubes - You only need a dot the size of a nickel to a quarter, a small amount of hot water to wet the brush, and a large mixing cup to make the finest lather possible - There are four different scents to choose from / 2) Because I wasn't sure if I wanted to "return" to the double edged razor, I didn't want to spend a lot of money on a badger bristle brush and I didn't know enough about the different grades, brands, and other factors. & as you're probably aware - The price discrepancy is mind-boggling - So here we are two years later. I'm still using the double edge razor I started with over 40 years ago, and I've even resurrected some old Gillette razors in addition to purchasing a couple new products (Merkur being one of them), as well as purchasing the blade sampler kit and selecting the appropriate blade (I use three brands that I find to be the most comfortable for my skin - Feather, Wilkinson, and an unknown third) - br>br>Now it's time to return to the brush - It's difficult to tell how big the brush and handle are from the description and pictures. The brush itself is extremely soft (in comparison to the Boar) - It doesn't exfoliate as well as the boar, but if you have a light-colored skin, it's a good alternative. stubble (for me, this means no more than two days of growth) - This brush is extremely effective - The bristles, on the other hand, can be a little longer - THE MAJOR CONCERN - is the lever - a tad too stubby and short Neither my hands nor my fingers are large or fat - Someone who does not would be unable to use this brush in any way - It's quite small - not compatible with a standard shaving cream mixing cup - similar to a standard coffee cup - due to the fact that Because you have to stick half your hand into the cup to pump and mix, the handle is too short to reach the bottom. Removing the actual brush from this handle and replacing it with a larger handle is a quick fix - It would, at the very least, make it usable - The small stainless steel bowl that comes with it is of good quality, but it lacks a handle, so you must hold it in the palm of your free hand while mixing/pumping up the lather with your other hand - It's just a pain to operate. It's a pity because the badger brush itself is wonderful on my skin, soft and gentle. BTW, all new natural hair brushes have an odor when they are first opened, and they can cost upwards of $100. There will be a stench left behind - However, getting rid of it is a piece of cake - Simply use a good shampoo (wash, rinse, and repeat three or four times in the sink with hot water - following the last wash/rinse - Invest in a high-quality conditioner - I used it twice: the first time, I let it sit on a damp brush for 3 to 5 minutes before rinsing it, and the second time, I rinsed it. 10 minutes prior to rinsing - A mildly scented shampoo/conditioner may help by reducing the number of "repeat cycles," but it also accomplishes three goals: it removes any loose hairs (of which there will always be some), it reduces the number of "repeat cycles," and it reduces the number of "repeat cycles. " 2) will clean/remove any natural or processing residue 3) will assist in breaking in the brush, identifying any major flaws to determine if the brush is up to spec or needs to be returned (missing patches of hair, faulty hair construction, loose or damaged handles, misshaped brush heads). etc. . and it will soften bristles as well as dramatically reduce or eliminate 95% or more of natural and processing odors. The odors were very light with this brush - The Boar hair brush, on the other hand, is a different story. I had to clean it a couple of times - to soften the bristles and get rid of the odor from the boar br>br>I also purchased this set in order to properly store the brush - It needs to be hung with the bristles pointing down to dry properly between uses - If left damp on its side, it will rot. Alternatively, you can store the Boar brush upside down on the flat part of the handle, as I did at first - You're inviting mildew to grow, as well as a slew of other nasties - Leaving a wet towel rolled up to prevent it from drying - You're familiar with the noxious odor - I did it because I didn't have a brush stand tall enough to hold the Boars brush, which has a large handle and a long handle. I was planning on using the new stainless steel holder that came with THIS brush for the Boar brush and the old short hanger for this new brush - NOPE, it's far too short, and the Badger hair brush's stainless steel hanger is far too narrow to even hold the little badger brush vertically like it should (the Badger handle is thicker than the slot that holds it on the hanger it comes with!). ) As a result, the brush can only be held in the holder by using the slot to hold the bristle end (where the knot meets the handle) vertically to dry - The bristles are being slightly crushed at the knot as a result of this. br>br>This concludes my assessment - great quality brush material BUT handle is way too short and thick for vertical hanging, holder/hanger is too narrow to support brush handle for vertical hanging, stainless steel bowl is great quality and looks great (like the Stainless Steel hanger) - However, it is far too small to be of any use - That, I believe, is why I purchased it. The photo enhances the set's appearance - However, appearances can be misleading. Chris br>br> br> br> br> br> br> br.
I bought this for my boyfriend for Valentine's Day, and it is exactly as it appears in the pictures, sizes, and descriptions. It's a good product, but the entire handle of the brush cracked and the coating has chipped significantly after only one use, despite the fact that he opened it early thinking it was something else (go figure). He cleaned the bristles with warm water, and he believes that's what caused it. It's only cosmetic, and the bristles are still intact, so returning it isn't an option, but I would have purchased a different brand if I had known it couldn't be cleaned with warm water. br>br>Creative+ paraphrase: Without my asking, customer service contacted me and offered to send a new brush and free shaving soap in exchange for the damaged product; we've had no problems with the replacement items and appreciate the quick response!.
After breaking his ceramic mug, which he had used for years, I ordered this for him. When I first showed it to him online, he was skeptical, but once it arrived, he decided it would be a good fit. I like that I don't have to worry about it breaking if it falls or is jarred too hard, and we both like that the brush has a holder that allows it to be rinsed and dried instead of being in the mug with the soap like he had it before.
Well, if my memory serves me correctly, this wasn't a particularly expensive brush, so I believe the brush is a good buy. The only positive aspect is the brush, which is soft and pleasant to the touch. The bowl is flimsy and won't stay still, which is a problem when you're trying to lather up the brush. The holder is useless for holding the brush or even keeping the bowl in place. Alas.
This is an excellent purchase even if you do not shave with a straight razor. I use cremo, which is difficult to spread lightly over your entire beard. br>I literally squirt a little of my favorite soap, a squirt of cremo, and a little hot water into the bowl and spread it with ease, saving myself much valuable time. With the brush, stir it all around, and presto! This is the ideal combination. And then applying it to your beard with the brush. It's a lot less difficult now. Even if you use regular shaving cream, I would recommend getting this set if you want to shave the old way, applying your cream by hand. Aside from its lovely authentics and low price, the ease with which I can apply my shaving cream has made me a happy camper who isn't looking back.
My mother recently brought me this really nice high-quality shave soap from her trip to Italy, and every time I use it, I feel like I'm in a barbershop (if you're going to buy this, definitely invest in a good shave soap / cream!). It also doesn't take up a lot of room on my bathroom sink and looks very elegant. The brush is of excellent quality for the price, and it makes shaving a pleasure for me. Two thumbs up!.
The brush and stand alone make this kit worthwhile, though the bowl is considerably smaller than I anticipated. Compare my soap to the one that came with the kit by looking at the photos.
This is an excellent starting point. It's not of the highest quality, but it's adequate. It's perfect for the price, and I recommend it if you're new to straight razors and other gentleman-style shaving. If you're a seasoned gentleman-style shaver, go for something more expensive.
