It's dual voltage, making it ideal for travel, and the heat temperature can be adjusted.
This is the second time I've participated in the CHI. I've never had an issue with either of them. I bought it specifically because it is dual voltage, which means I won't need to use a converter while traveling in Europe.
It's a big plug. I always plug into the bottom outlet to free up the top one. When plugged into the top, it covers the bottom outlet.

I just spoke with Farouk Systems, the company behind the Chi G2 product, and they said that as long as you buy it directly from Amazon (not from someone selling it on Amazon), you'll be fine. This product is genuine, so don't click on any of the other purchasing options that may be available under the item description. Chi products are available through Amazon, which is an authorized retailer. The plug has been the subject of some debate, both on this review site and elsewhere online. Many people believe your flat iron is a fake if it has a regular two-prong plug and no ground fault circuit interrupter. The circuit interrupter plug is no longer used on this iron, according to Farouk Systems, because it does not use enough watts/amps to warrant it. In the end, If you buy directly from Amazon, you can be sure that your Chi is genuine.

This review is about this specific seller, not about the actual product. I'm only giving it one star because it's a forgery. The package's seal was broken when I received it. Chi did move away from the box plug, as evidenced by other characteristics. For example, the buttons, letters, and so on. I have a flat iron form that came with it, but it finally gave up after years of use. I ordered this to replace it online and was disappointed to discover that it was not the genuine article; please do not waste your money!.
It was a substantial sum of money! The plates appeared to be ceramic, but they are actually ceramic coated! Wow! Rip off. I'm returning it to Amazon because I've never opened it.

As a hairdresser, I can attest to the fact that this is an excellent tool; it's no surprise that it's won awards; it produces very professional results, doesn't harm the hair, and produces shiny and smooth results even with the most damaged and difficult types of hair; it simply makes the job easier and faster. If you are not a professional and are purchasing this iron for domestic use, please make sure you are using the appropriate temperature setting for your hair type. This iron is very powerful and can burn your hair if you use it incorrectly or go over the recommended temperature. Also, please treat it with the same care you would any other electronic device, such as your phone; if the iron falls, it can be severely damaged; store it properly, keep it clean, and don't leave it on for long periods of time.
Instead of a gfci cord, the product came with a regular one. Another sign that this is a fake is the presence of gride marks where the logo should be due to poor casting.
I intended to use this to replace the one I've had for ten years, but to be honest, the decade-old one is still in good shape. The old one is far superior in terms of functionality. I should have read the reviews first - This is not the actual CHI, but rather an Egyptian company. Amazon must do a better job of weeding out these con artists.
It died, however, before a year had passed since it was purchased. Given its limited lifespan, the product's price is absurd.
