Questions & Answers
I don't see any differences, so if there are any, I'm not aware of them, but I do have the gold one, which I adore.
Unlike the other irons on Amazon, this one has a ceramic coating and heats up a little faster. I really like it now that I've used it a few times in the last month.
Before there was a shortage, I'd say I got a year's worth of CONSTANT use out of it. I'm a hairstylist, and I highly recommend this product, especially given the low price.
To protect your skin, place a thin comb in between your hair and the hot comb. With practice, you will be able to use the comb without burning your skin.

I had to revisit my review and make changes. It was the best electric hot comb I'd ever owned until it broke after only three uses. It was only 5 weeks ago that I purchased it. I tried calling in to have the problem resolved, but I didn't think the gas and cost of driving to a shipping store and returning the defective comb were worth the comb itself. br>br> I'm starting to think I was sold a refurbished comb in the first place because 5 weeks of ownership and only 3 uses is ridiculous when I've never dropped or mistreated the comb. If it works, it's an excellent comb. br>br> If it doesn't work, toss it out. Dealing with Andis' customer service isn't worth the aggravation you'll experience. The warranty is pointless because the comb isn't worth the hassle of having it replaced in the first place. I'm guessing the replacement will also be a refurbished comb.
It doesn't get very hot, and it had no effect on my hair. Because the comb part isn't hot, I could hold it in my hand for an extended period of time on the highest heat setting.
Make a marketing change. Kinky or curly hair isn't unruly, and I'm tired of black women being sold products to fix our unruly locks.
It's not a problem if you know how to do hair on and off. Just position your finger and grip more gently and it'll be fine. Heavy-handed people, I believe, are the source of the problem. I like it a lot more than I expected based on the negative reviews.
I was 20 years old at the time, and my results on level 12 were excellent. This comb works well and is the first to leave my hair without a burnt odor. I'm in 4a. It's an ish type of hair that's super frizzy and difficult to straighten without using a lot of heat. It has a 1-level setting. I was 20 years old at the time, and my results on level 12 were excellent. I'm hoping the ceramic coating lasts longer than previous ceramic flatirons, which I highly recommend (I'm a licensed hairstylist, by the way).
There were a lot of them that were a little bit of everything. My hair is coarse and tightly coils. My hair has been damaged as a result of wearing weaves and perms for so long since I decided not to get another perm. My hair has only recently returned to its natural state. I'm not ready to completely abandon wigs, so I prefer a soft look when I'm not wearing one. There are numerous benefits to using a hot comb. For starters, it doesn't leave a burnt/salon odor in your home. Two, it's incredibly simple to hold in your hand. I recommend getting a hot pad to avoid burning your counter, which gets extremely hot. It also made my hair fall out in three places. As I previously stated, I have coarse hair, and the comb worked like a charm with a little old school African American grease. It didn't get hot enough or didn't work at all, according to many reviews. I noticed that some of the girls in the reviews were not African American, so I wondered if they straightened their hair with the hot comb alone. Other than my own race, I'm not up to date on hair types. My husband, who is white, never uses oils, but I believe it would be better if he used a serum to protect his hair from high heats (Chi makes a great product for all hair types). Other products, I'm sure, are equally fantastic. Fourth, the location of the on/off switch is why I gave it four stars rather than five. As many have pointed out, it is situated in an inconvenient location. I was aware of it, so I made sure not to turn it off when I used the comb. It was plenty hot when I used the 12 setting. I'm glad I went against the grain and took a chance instead of reading the reviews. In terms of giving me a sleek look, it has been a lifesaver. I was willing to spend $12 on a comb to hang over the stove, so spending a few dollars more to plug into the wall and not stink up the entire house was the ideal solution for me. I hope you like me and decide to buy it without reading the reviews. Amazon is a fantastic platform. Return it if it isn't right for you. As for me, I'm delighted to have this device in my collection. This is an excellent purchase!.
I like Andis products, but this hot comb did not live up to the Andis reputation. It didn't get hot enough for me, despite the fact that it said 420 degrees. It's possible that it's due to the comb's material.
