I am very impressed with how well it is made. A power wheelchair makes it easy to go up and down. It might not seem heavy to someone else, but I am 55 years old with muscle and joint ailments, so it might not seem heavy to me. I would have to use it on the back opening of my 2001 Ford Windstar because it is too wide for the side As well, I have tried it at the step at my front door and it is also working well there. There is not enough room for the screen door to clear the raised edges so I have to open the screen door first. I also don't intend to leave it in place since I don't plan to. My overall impression of the product is very positive and I am glad that I bought it.
The accident in which my wife broke her right ankle and left foot sent me into a panic. I was in a hurry to get help. It was impossible for her to bear weight on either foot as she was confined to a wheelchair. There are things about our house that I did not expect to be handicap accessible. At all doors, there are two steps. A couple days after my order, I received the product in my hands. It would have been better to get a larger size, but it works okay. This product is very well-made. The structure fit perfectly against the door of the mini van, allowing the wheelchair to be moved into and out of it easily. It was more than worth the cost as we probably would have hurt our backs if we had tried to lift the wheelchair ourselves.
My moble scout scooter came with a shorter ramp, which I previously purchased. I bought the 6' ramp because it was too short for my scooter. It is extremely durable and it hung up on it when it was short. My needs are met by it perfectly. My groceries are also loaded into a wagon so I can bring them into my house easily, as well as pull a cart into the shed so I can move things when necessary. Making life easier for me has made a huge difference. The benefits of accessing this ramp are so important to a senior citizen like myself who finds it so difficult without one. For this purpose, my smaller ramp is ideal. I pull the wagon out of the back door using it. When you consider both the number of ways and the frequency of use, it seems to be a very impressive value.
Having this ramp makes it easier for my husband to take his scooter out of the car or van. There was some uneven drilling of the holes for the lock pins, however. As a result, it is almost impossible to get them back in after pulling them out. It has been a long time since I received them back. It is worth checking this little thing, so I would suggest the company do so. I would have given it 5 stars if it weren't for that.
It was probably one of the best purchases I ever made. A blacksmith is my husband and he is in the process of moving. We could not have gotten here without this ramp! Moving tool boxes and equipment was made so much easier with this device. You can count on it to last a long time. The only complaint is that the end slides out of place unless something is placed in the way. It is still something I would buy again.
I like how easy this tool is to use, heavy enough to feel sturdy, made of great materials, and it has a handy handle. You can also use it as a ramp to move furniture with a dolly much more easily! I would highly recommend the product. It is excellent quality and worth the price.
