My height is 5'11". When gripping the walking stick, it is recommended that your lower arm (bent 90 degrees at the elbow) be parallel to the ground. I like the 55-inch stick. I've also read that a 55-inch stick is suitable for people up to 6 feet tall. (It's preferable if it's a little too long-) The stick can always be made shorter, but it cannot be made longer!
Probably. It isn't hollow, in my opinion. It appears to be quite durable. But’I’have’not cut into it yet so’I’m’not 100% sure, but I’think it is. It's a fantastic piece of equipment. Personally, I prefer the added length. For me, that was the appeal. I'm not sure how they handle the shorter ones so well.
I'm 5'3", and I'm in charge of the grooved section. If you hold the bottom of the grooved area, I believe it will work for you as well.
It's made out of genuine wood. I bought it for my elderly father to help him get out of his chair and walk down to his continuing care facility's dining hall. Depending on what you want to do with it, I believe it will last. At the age of 87, my father will not be trekking through the Everglades any time soon. I, too, had no intention of spending a lot of money.

This walking stick is quite appealing - from a certain vantage point Close inspection reveals that the staining and possible weatherproofing were done haphazardly. This may appeal to some city dwellers, but it does not appeal to me. Although the grooves appear to be well-carved, they are not. This is not a solid piece of wood, and if you look closely, you can see the join between the main body of the staff and its handle. If you don't wear a leather glove while using this for an extended period of time, you risk irritating the palm of your hand. In fact, I'm not sure if the staff's body is made of a single piece of wood or if I'm holding a Masonite cylinder at all. The rubber tip on the end, on the other hand, is excellent, and the walking stick is great for providing extra balance when walking through the woods or along the river, as well as helping you get back up off your knees when gardening. So, if you're a reasonably mobile person with reasonable expectations, this stick should be fine for you. I would not buy it for or recommend it to any senior citizen with mobility issues, and the stick even came with a warning sticker stating that it had not been tested for medical purposes. br>br>I'm not naive; there's no way a product this cheap can compete with the look and feel of an authentic blackthorn walking stick imported from Ireland, but it's good enough for me to use on a long hike through a hilly area or at a Renaissance/Fantasy Fair. I wish the craftsmanship was better, but I only use it a few times a year, so I expect it to last a few years.
The stick has never been used. The quality is extremely poor. There are divots and cracks in the partially finished surface. br>Item was returned and a new one was ordered. I'm hoping the replacement is a step up in quality.
The item was delivered in an opened plastic bag. I'm guessing I got a return from someone else. A large chunk of wood has been removed from the top of the handle, and the handle has split underneath it. This was a huge disappointment.
It was exactly what I needed, and at a great price!.
a hundred points My husband adores it and carries it around with him throughout the day. He's getting a hip replacement and thought this would be useful until then, plus it's functional and stylish for someone his age. Thank you very much. LOVE IT. The delivery was extremely quick. My expectations were surpassed in a big way. Thank you.
I'm tall, and the stick is perfect for me. I had a successful knee replacement, but I still have trouble keeping my balance when walking long distances. This gave me the confidence to accelerate while also ensuring my equilibrium. Beautiful piece of wood that gave me more freedom and eliminated the need for a cane.
This is a lovely walking stick. It's well-made and sturdy. Many people have commented on how it looks like an old stick passed down through the generations. It appeals to me greatly.
My Dad was the recipient of this purchase. He owns a cabin in the mountains and enjoys going for walks there. Because he is elderly, this should help him maintain his balance while also looking fashionable. Arrived on time.
