Questions & Answers

My tub's outside wall rises 21 inches above the ground. Is the length of the legs sufficient to get through this?

Please be cautious! The seat I was given did not meet the requirements for flight number 22. The distance between the seat hardware and the floor is 5 inches! Apart from the occupational therapist's recommendation for the brand, the height was the main reason I chose this chair; other chair diagrams specified hardware-based seating. Because the chair is designed to go over the side of the tub, the floor is the logical way to measure clearance, but the chair I received is 2 inches shorter.

Is this a transfer bench that was designed and manufactured in the United States?

The bench is fine, but the feet outside the tub aren't quite tall enough to keep the seat balanced. Our tub is a jet tub, which means it sits higher than a traditional tub.

Is it possible for me to replace the rubber suction in the legs?

My husband was unable to remove them, despite the fact that they appeared to be necessary. If you're concerned about too much suction, however, No, this is not the case. They have a seat that can be moved around easily.

Is it possible to use a clawfoot tub with these legs?

Yes, it should reach all the way to the tub's rim. It all depends on the height of the tub's rim and the height to which the bench will extend. However, it appears to work as far as I can tell.

Metal Screws at a Low Cost For the time being, the chair is stable and sturdy
3/5

The plastic seat and aluminum frame should last a long time, but I'm not sure why the manufacturer used metal screws and nuts that have already started rusting and staining the shower floor, when they could have spent the extra few dollars on 4 stainless steel screws and nuts, as well as 4 other stainless steel screws, other than being cheap.

After a hip replacement, this is the perfect outfit to wear
5/5

I recently had hip replacement surgery, and this has made bathing so much easier! It's a solid and dependable piece of equipment. I'm around 250 pounds, and this chair easily supported my entire weight! It was easy to put together; I finished it in less than 5 minutes. 7mins.

The tub rusts and stains as a result of this
3/5

After only a few months, the rub is already starting to rust. I'm not sure why an aluminum frame with supposedly stainless hardware would leak rust and stain the rub. This is a brand that I will not purchase again.

In less than two months, it was completely rusted
3/5

It's only been a couple of months and it's already rusted. When I tipped it over for a thorough cleaning, I noticed pools of brown water and rust on the underside (a shower chair should be rust proof because it is in water). We have had it for seven weeks and only have a month to return it. Sad.

I found it to be useful
4/5

This bench allowed me to shower rather than sponge bathe after a severe broken ankle. From the outside of the tub, it was long enough to provide a comfortable seating position. I then shifted my weight so that my good leg was in the tub and my injured leg was outside, wrapped to keep it dry. I was able to brace myself and balance on my good leg while getting completely washed thanks to the seat. It was strong enough to support my weight (195 pounds). The only issue I have is that the suction cup inside the tub slips a little on the material in my tub.

Fear of falling was no longer an issue
5/5

Worries about Mom falling in the shower were no longer an issue. After knee surgery, I bought this for her. She can get in and out of the tub without assistance because the transfer bench is more stable than a tub bench. You take a seat outside the tub and slowly lower your legs and body into it. Excellent product.

It's possible that this will bend
3/5

This product is simple to put together and has excellent suction, but the bar was bent when it arrived. We couldn't get the handle part in after putting everything together because it was bent, which was a bummer. I would still recommend it, but before wasting your time like we did, check all of the holes and poles to make sure nothing is bent!.
