My husband ordered this for me because I recently broke my leg and needed assistance taking a shower. Unfortunately, it didn't feel very safe right away. Because my leg was initially in excruciating pain and I couldn't balance, this chair was extremely frightening to use. The seat is extremely narrow, and I quickly learned that once I was balanced, I couldn't move more than an inch forward or back without tipping the bench. I'm not sure how it's rated for 500 pounds because I'm only 200 pounds and it didn't feel stable or secure to me. Also, because it was so unstable, I couldn't use it to help me balance while stepping over the tub's edge. Although the suction handle was useful, I chose to attach it to the tub rather than the wall.
Putting together the first shower seat was actually quite simple for me. I didn't even bother reading the instructions; if you can put together a child's toy, you should be fine. 2: br>br>3: br>br>4: br>br>5: I'm a big guy, about 280 pounds, and I didn't feel uncomfortable sitting in or using this seat. br>br>3: if you're looking for a unique way to express yourself, try using the words " The grab bar is unreliable; it came loose twice while I was only using it to keep myself steady with very little pressure. Allowing yourself to rely on this to keep you from falling is not a good idea. 4: br>br> I returned the second seat because there were no holes for cross braces drilled into the legs for assembly, so I returned it and ordered another.
The tension on the threaded inserts distorted the molded plastic over time, making it unstable, and the more unstable it became, the faster the plastic distorted. br>br>This stool, which is designed to hold 500 pounds, has cross braces that limit leg movement and should prevent the plastic from distorting. The frame is stable on its own and does not rely on plastic for rigidity. br>br>Recent changes: br>br> After a few uses, I upgraded to a five star rating because it is so stable that I no longer have to worry about it sinking to the tub's bottom. Because I am less than half the weight capacity, this chair is as stable as a regular chair. It can be tipped over, but it won't do so on its own.
Who knew that getting a shower chair would make such a difference in one's life? The tub/shower in this house lacked safety grab bars. My left knee has a trick that allows it to pop out whenever it pleases. br>I decided to make some changes after the last time it went out in the tub. I had a strong desire to go for a stroll. My budget won't allow me to indulge in that dream right now, so the next best thing is a tub stool/chair. The assembly of the chair was simple. I didn't even need to look for any equipment. It's well-made and fits comfortably in the bathtub. When I use it, I feel a lot safer. It gives me great peace of mind to know that I won't fall.
I don't want to fall at the age of 69, so I only have 5 minutes. Because I'm overweight, I don't want to sit in a seat that can't support my weight. This shower chair gives me a great sense of security. I have arthritis all over my body, so putting it together was not difficult for me. The suction hand bar is an excellent addition! It adds a layer of protection and support. This chair is ideal for my dangerously stylish bathtub!.
This bath/shower stool's small footprint makes it ideal for small shower stalls and narrower tubs, and it's simple to assemble and adjust to your preferred height. The seat's handles make it simple to push yourself up if necessary and/or pick up for lifting when moving it. With the added crossbars on the legs, it's lightweight but very sturdy. It sits perfectly flat and doesn't move. Cleaning is a breeze. When it's wet and you're sitting on it, the padded seat is a nice touch because it doesn't feel slick. It is not recommended that you use the grab bar that comes with it to assist you in getting up. It's only for suction and should only be used to keep your balance once you've gotten up. You'll have to re-enter all of your information. This bar should be replaced every two weeks. Ours lasts about two weeks in our shower stall. I don't have any other suction bars to compare it to, so I can't say if the suction lasts long enough, but when it's up, it stays put and doesn't move when you touch it, so as long as we keep putting it back, I'm fine. We bought our first one a little over a year ago and it has held up so well that we decided to buy another for the tub in the other bathroom.
For an older tub, the size is ideal. It was a breeze to put together. is incredibly durable and simple to clean.
I recommend the stool because it is sturdy and fits nicely in my small bathtub/shower. I'm having trouble using the grab bar, but it's possible that I'm doing something wrong. There were no instructions on how to get it to stick to the wall when it was delivered.
