Questions & Answers
Maximum height is approximately 23 1/2 inches. Each of the four legs can be adjusted to accommodate uneven surfaces. You can also adjust the height to allow water to run off into the tub rather than onto the floor. The rail on the bench can be moved to either end. We were very pleased with this product as a low-cost way to adapt a standard bath to our elderly parent's needs.
It's difficult to respond because I don't know the size of your shower. For my mother's hip surgery recovery, I'm using this in my combo tub/shower. It's a good system. We have a standard tub/shower combo, I believe.
It's as simple as putting it in place. It took my daughter only a few minutes to do it for me.
Plastic and aluminum combine to make the Carex Transfer Bench. Standard household cleaners can be used; however, test clean a small area first to ensure that the chemicals are safe to use before cleaning the entire bench.

I assumed I had gotten a lemon based on the reviews that said it was simple to put together. Now I'm stuck with the hassle of having to return it and not having one when I really need it.
Several chairs were tried, but they were either too low, too small, or too uncomfortable. I tried stools that were finally high enough but wobbly, making me feel uneasy. This is a fantastic transfer bench. The one handle on the side helps me get up, it is super sturdy and finally I am safe and 100% clean! This bench's adjustable legs allow you to adjust the height in half-inch increments rather than inches. It adjusts in height from low to very high, and I'm a big guy who feels completely safe in this chair.
It's a $55 price tag. 00 joke. Yes, it's simple to put together unless one of the small gold buttons is pushed in too far. Mine did, and I had a difficult time getting it out again. br>Did you see the woman washing her foot with the sprayer? Did you happen to notice a shower curtain? NO. Because the shower curtain will not fit inside the tub, rendering it useless. br>I bought this because I broke my ankle and it's too dangerous to try to step out of the tub, especially if the floor is wet. Take note of what I've done wrong.
It fits into her claw foot bathtub when used in tandem with the Carex leg extensions. This was simple to put together and allows her to sit outside the tub before scooting into it. It was a lot safer than the way she was climbing in and out. There are shower curtains that are made to fit around the bench that you can purchase, but I simply cut a couple of holes in her curtain and it worked perfectly.
I believe this bench will serve its purpose, but what should have been a simple process turned into a frustrating experience. Small retractable buttons connect the various parts of this bench, which should pop back out into one of several holes after being pressed. The bench is simple to assemble and adjust thanks to this method of construction. Two of the many buttons, however, never returned to their original positions to lock into place. They remained retracted instead, even slipping down into the hollow metal leg and arm assembly. I couldn't reach or reposition these two buttons to make them usable despite putting in a lot of effort. This resulted in a leg and back assembly that were not properly locked into place, and there was nothing I could do about it. br>Despite these annoyances, I am confident that the bench will be sturdy enough to see me through my upcoming hip replacement surgery. However, because of the frustrating assembly issue, I am unlikely to recommend this bench.
It's light and easy to move in this manner. It has a nice appearance and will go well with other safety equipment.
I believe the seat could be a little wider, despite the fact that this is a sturdy transfer bench. I bought it for after my hip replacement surgery because getting into the tub can be difficult. The seat is comfortable, though it can be a little slick when exiting the tub. Even when holding on to the back and side rails, I'm afraid of falling off. I believe I could sit further back in the seat if it were wider, giving me a more secure feeling.
There are holes in the box, and it has been repackaged. Beware. The box was delivered a day late and had two large holes in it. Inside Upon opening, I noticed that two pieces were missing and the plastic inside was torn open, indicating that this item had been repacked. Given that this is a medical transport tub for someone who requires it, I am not only disappointed, but it also puts me behind schedule. I now have to return the item and quickly purchase a replacement for my father, who urgently requires it. Very let down. Buyers should be wary of this!.
