This belt gives me mixed feelings; when it works, it works well for the first few days. However, it quickly stretches out, and the "boning" is made of plastic that curls up and does not return to its original shape. The size and shape are great for the first week or so, but it quickly loses all resemblance to the original design and degrades into cheap crap far too quickly. br>br>If anyone has found an umbilical hernia belt that is decent and has this general style but is actually high quality, I would love to hear about it, because I have tried five different ones from Amazon and they are all junk.
This is the second time I've bought something like this. It lasted about a year and a half the first time around. It was something I wore on a daily basis. br>I bought a second one a week ago, thinking it would be the same as the first, but it only lasted 6 days before it started to fall apart, with the stitching coming undone, some of the elastic poking out, and one of the rigid sections ripping open.
The belt is the best I've tried to keep my diastasis recti under control, not the product. No, I'm not expecting a child, LOL. My abdominal muscle herniation was caused by "too much" weight in my gym lifting routine. I've had it for a long time, but at 80, I'm not about to stop exercising. The "protrusion" has been kept under control thanks to this belt. It would be a cure to say "perfect. ".
It's a nice belt, but it's not particularly long-lasting. Every day, I rotate my belts, and after about 10 uses, the sewing holding the plastic binder in place frayed, and the plastic piece poked out into my stomach. I removed the binder piece, but that portion is no longer useful for support; the photo shows where it frayed, and I bent the fabric to show where the binder piece is missing.
When you're in pain from your hernia, it's difficult to pull tight enough. There isn't enough velcro on the pad to keep it in place as you struggle to put it on. Unfortunately, it cannot be made in such a way that it can be used equally well by people who use their right or left hands. It did, however, help once I got it snug enough. I was able to sit and bend over comfortably while wearing it. It hasn't been long enough for me to know how well it will hold up.
The item arrived in a very short amount of time (two days). It arrived in its original packaging, which was still sealed. The quality of the materials is excellent. It is, if not better, than described. It's the type of product you'd expect from a professional, and this order was exactly that! I would use them without hesitation if all deliveries were like this. AN EXCELLENT PRODUCT WITH EXCELLENT SERVICE!.
Because of the front stay, you can't wear this belt under a shirt without it sticking out. It's also far too big to use on a regular basis.
An organ was removed during major surgery on my stomach. When coughing, laughing, driving, walking, or going to the bathroom, this belt provides support. It keeps everything from jiggling around, which causes me discomfort, and I can wear it under a shirt for eight hours at work without feeling uncomfortable.
