It should be applicable in any situation. Temperature and relative humidity are two important factors to consider. Following a salt test, it can be used to calibrate a humidor.
Sorry, my husband hasn't needed to replace the battery in over a year and a half, and he doesn't want to open it because it's been working fine. My husband has a 3000 so-called humidor in which he has three of these things, all of which are working perfectly fine. Sorry I couldn't be more helpful; if it ain't broke, don't fix it.

How are you attempting to adjust your hygrometer's readings? I've had good results with the salt method. Fill a 2L Coke cap halfway with salt and a few drops of water. Place the hygrometer and a slightly damp (not soggy or runny) salt cup in a zip-top bag with care. lock bag. Wait a few days after sealing it. This should create a relative humidity of 75%RH environment. Set your hygrometer to the proper setting and press the calibrate button. I make an attempt to adjust the hygrometer without having to open the bag. I usually leave a new hygrometer in the bag for another day to ensure that it remains 75%. Now you've got a digital hygrometer that's perfectly calibrated.

The problem was that it, like the round one, required calibration. I just put them in the same room and the off in RH needed 16 clicks CC there were only 10. So I went all the way to CC and it read low, so I went back and adjusted the knob until it read the same as the round one I calibrated. The main issue is the set button; I pushed it and nothing happened, so I used a tooth pick with the end broken off and it worked; occasionally, the button would go it and come out on an angle, so I had to move it just right before it was where it should be; otherwise, it was fine. If they make the button a little longer, this won't happen, unless I got one that wasn't properly made. I now reads no more than 1% higher than the calibrated one and the temp is often the same as the calibrated one. The round one-set button is simple to use and never gets stuck.
For the past 6 years, I've been using these in my guitars. Use a Bovida to calibrate your system. It takes some effort to get it to stay calibrated, but it does. I've tried other guitar humidifier companies' products that cost more than twice as much. They aren't correct. This one isn't the most user-friendly, and it lacks memory and mounting clips. Use Velcro that is made of fabric. It's the most accurate small hygrometer available.
Turning the calibration knob had no effect this time as well as well as well as well as well as well as well as well as well as well as well as I requested a refund and returned it. Two failures in a row told me everything I needed to know about the situation.
I bought two of them and when placed in the same cabinet they read 2% off off off off off off off off off off off off off off off off off off off off One could say 70%, while the other could say 72%. This falls within the /- tolerance set by the manufacturer. 2%. Just take an average because one might be 1% low and the other might be 1% high. They've been in two different cabinets for a while, and I tried to adjust them, but it didn't work out so well. But does that 1% matter really matter really matter really matter really matter No. It's possible that some of the other reviewers suffer from OCD.
They work well and can be adjusted. You'll have a difficult time finding any that can be calibrated for the price of these.
It appears to be a high-end device. I bought it to compare it to other hygrometers for the home that were less expensive. When calibrated on 2075% it showed 78, I moved calibration pot ( instruction calls for some "clicks", but for me it is pot, no clicks) When you move the left pot button to 75 on the screen and press the small set button, the unit is perfectly calibrated. It's a small item, but the numbers are visible. F and C units are displayed.
It's also fantastic that you can adjust the calibration. You won't find a better deal for the money. It performs admirably and quickly adjusts to new readings. The conversion between Fahrenheit and Celcius as well as the calibration wheel that will let you turn up or down the reading in 1% increments are a couple nice additions as well% br>br>This model is available in both rectangular and round shapes, which is convenient. br>br>However, the tiny magnet that comes with it is quite pitiful. I deducted a star because I couldn't really mount it without using my own double-sided tape. What are you going to do, anyway? For the price, it remains a fantastic hygrometer.
I'm not happy. I'm still working on calibrating it. It is recommended that you buy a humidifier. In addition, pak Because it doesn't come with a standard, you'll need one to calibrate it.
