Questions & Answers

If this stuff is applied to bamboo, will the bamboo become greasy, slick, You wash after applying, or do you not wash? Is that okay?

Despite the fact that I do not use bamboo as a board, I apply a thin oil layer that soaks In this case, I do not wash it away If any excess appears, I simply wipe it off with a soft towel or rag. The evening before I begin working on it the next day, I oil it so that it can be ready the following morning. Despite not feeling oily or greasy, it is not greasy. A richer wood grain appears as a result. Most likely, I oil it once a month, although sometimes I wait up to three weeks before doing so.

What about grains)? In lieu of retyping this, I am considering it Are you applying Emmet's Good approach?

It would be nice if you could rephrase that A new application must be submitted every two years There is a 4-week waiting period. Your use of the table and how well it is seasoned will determine how long it will last. As of now, my counter tops have not been able to take in multiple coats of paint as they are only two months old. The wood looks white when it is dried out, which means that it needs to be treated.

I got this product to use on wood cutting boards I got from IKEA
5/5

It brings wood back to life. It is an amazing product. I initially bought it to use on unfinished, cheap The wood began to take on a beautiful hue as soon as it was painted with its first coat. To finish a piece, I initially applied five coats, waiting anywhere from an hour to a day between coats (depending on how much time I had). About 30 minutes had passed since I warmed up the oil After 40 seconds in the microwave, rub the towel with a tightly woven kitchen towel to remove the residue. For the first four coats, I did not wipe off the excess. I just gave the paint time to soak into the wood fully. My family has heirloom bowls that have been in our family for generations (they are at least 100 years old at this point) which are perfect for this cleaning solution. <extra_id_20> I was amazed at how smoothly it worked. Most likely these bowls haven't had any oil added to them for at least 30 years A shameful scandal in which 40 years of neglect had been exposed. With a single pass of this butcher block conditioner, the bowls took on a color and life that I had no idea they had before (see the before and after photos below). In the past, I've successfully used my formula on the wooden legs of a chair I'm restoring as well as some tincan wood I found at a junk shop A cheese board from the turn of the century. The result is that every wooden item in the house is being treated! Because we are using food grade finishes, we don't have to worry if a curious dog or cat goes to lick scent is also lovely-it has the taste of honey without being overpowering, so those who are sensitive to chemical scents shouldn't be worried about it. I don't leave as many reviews as I should, but I was so impressed with this product that I thought it deserved one. Are there other butcher block oils that I can compare to this one? There is no. In any case, I am happy enough with it. I do not feel the need to look for.

However, an application for butchering blocks from John Taylor has been filed
5/5

The five stars I gave this item are due to its effectiveness. From my perspective, there are two ways to put this into practice. To warm up the cutting board and JT block conditioner, either place them in direct sunlight for about 30 minutes until both of them feel warm to the touch, or use the method that I used. I used a hair dryer (blower) to warm the surface of my cutting board to a nice temperature. As I applied the JT conditioner over the entire surface, I placed a few drops a few inches apart. With the blow dryer, I heated each drop until it was nice and warm and fluid. Cut a new cellulose sponge into a size 1 from a new package of sponge material. I rubbed in the conditioner along the grains of the wood using a 5 inch square sponge. The conditioner can be added as needed as it is heated *** I strongly advise you not to pour the conditioner all over the board as it is If you need to apply another coat, wait about 20 minutes or so after applying the first coat, especially if you are using a new cutting board that did not have a conditioner beforehand. How come the board and conditioner need to be warmed up? A thick oil at room temperature is bees wax, carnauba wax, and mineral oil. By warming it up, you make it easy to rub into cuts, cracks, and pores of the wood, which means a greater protection against water and bacteria settling in and causing damage. A board without a protective layer will be vulnerable to bacteria growing in cracks and cuts, and water will cause the board to warp over time. A board with a slick protective layer is Is it a good idea to condition your board when you use it? It depends There may be a need to apply another coat when you notice new cuts on the board that are white or a different shade than the rest of the board. You should apply this procedure to both the sides of the board and the edges too.

The best results can be obtained by heating up rubber gloves and applying
5/5

There is no longer any need to scour the world for the best food safe finish and product. It's unreal what is going on here. With polly, the wood feels smooth and its grains are brought out to their full potential. While remaining true to the natural color of the wood, it gives it an enhanced look. There is a great deal of depth to the grain in white oak, walnut, maple, and ash. Once dry, there is no scent once it has been used. It has a light and pleasant honey smell when applied to the skin. You need to put very little effort into it in order to get the best results, but the results are far greater than the effort. Here's what I did to achieve great results and reduce waste. In short, use rubber gloves to hand rub. The product should be heated to ensure more penetration, seal, finish, etc.

I recommend this as a resource.
Put on rubber gloves, get a hair dryer, and get a shallow pan wide enough to fit over a stove. Make sure you have a towel and hot pad on hand. Lie the product horizontally in the shallow pan with the lid closed (seal under the cap removed) on top of the hot pad on your work surface. You should use the hair dryer to heat the wood surface or cutting board you will be treating. During the period in which the water is heating up, toast the wood using high heat and low fan speed. The hair dryer needs to be on and blowing on the cutting board when the water begins to boil. Take the tea kettle off the stove when water begins brewing. Water should be added to the shallow pan so that the bottle is at least half submerged with the label facing upward. You can continue to warm your cutting board with your hair dryer for a few more minutes. As soon as the hair dryer has been set down, remove the bottle of product with gloves on and wrap in a (Simply place the bottle in the towel by using tongs if the water is too hot. Wrap the bottle in a To ensure the lid does not pop open when shaking, keep your finger on the top of the lid while holding it down. Once the bottle is back in the water, turn it over so the label is facing up. The board should remain warm for a few minutes after the blow dryer is blown on. Wrap the entire bottle of product in a towel and shake it well after removing it from the water. Now that the product has been completely warmed, melted, and mixed, it should flow like water. With your right hand, pour the product on to the cutting board, and using your left hand, keep the surface warm with a blow dryer. Close the cap on the bottle, and place it back in the As you wear the gloves, use your right hand to rub in the product. in a blow dryer should make the process of coating wood more slick and viscous, thus allowing it to penetrate into wood more easily. In a circular motion, rub the product all around the board and apply more if necessary. Make sure you rub the board on all sides. Rub in straight lines across the board from top to bottom to ensure an even coating. Be sure to make long, even passes with the grain and concentrate on even coverage and a minimum amount of You can apply the coating to one side at a time then the other the next day, allowing each side to fully dry. If time is limited, you can flip the board and apply the coating to the other side. After one hour in low humidity and room temperature, lightly wipe the board with a dry paper towel to remove any specks that may have formed as the product has started to set up and excess oil has been brought up Once the oil has been on the surface for 24 hours, wipe it off with fresh paper towels again. Once the surface has been sealed, it will look very smooth and even. The results will blow you away and you will be so happy. It is the first time I have used a product with such a perfectly smooth finish.
