Questions & Answers

When comparing oil and wax, what's the difference?

The Wood Wax we offer is a dense wax that is applied after Cutting Board Oil in order to add greater color saturation, shine, and water protection to wood surfaces. The Cutting Board Oil is primarily oil based and designed to soak into the wood over time.

Could this be applied to a natural stone counter?

There is a wood wax in the name as you might have guessed. A mix of Coconut Oil, Beeswax, Mineral Oil, Vitamin E is used in its manufacture. Natural stone is not suitable for this, and linseed oil is typically used for natural stone care.

How would you recommend applying this wax to a butcher block countertop? Could it be applied as a finish wax on top of lacquer?

I'd say yes, so long as the lacquer is completely In case you don't plan to cut on the countertop, Walrus Oil® Furniture Wax is the best choice.

Put wax on and take it off with a whack
5/5

The wax I use for my wood works quite well. Put yourself in the position of a tree. My brand used to be another popular brand before someone recommended this one to me. It was way better than the first one I tried. This program works smoothly and is The wax goes on and then the wax comes As opposed to my nephews, who whack on and whack.

The sealer must be applied after the oil application
5/5

Besides a few spots of oil on a hardwood cutting board made more than 45 years ago, it has never seen any oil since leaving the woodshop class in junior high. There was no color or texture to it, and it was completely dry. Afterwards, a small amount of Walrus Oil (allowing it to soak good into the board) will create a beautiful cutting board. Because we use the cutting board all the time for large juicy proteins (BBQ brisket and smoked pork butt, etc. ) I had to coat it with Walrus Oil Wood Wax to preserve its appearance. The bike is just like new once again and an absolute Thanks, Walrus Oil, for making such an awesome.

You can put it on and take it off easily
5/5

Some of my small crafts have been using wood wax This wax is very easy to apply (I use gloved fingers to warm it up and rub it into the grain), and it buffs off with little effort. allow the pieces to dry a little, and while they're tacky when I apply them, they are dry to the touch once I buff with a cloth and get In my line of work, I produce coasters, and adding this to the product would be beneficial. Probably enough material to make hundreds of coasters out of a 3 oz can.

Bringing the wood to a great end with a great final layer
5/5

You can easily use this product to add another layer of protection and finish to Cutting boards are part of what I make, and I like the look the finish gives. You may want to keep in mind that oiling your wood is the best thing you can do to keep it in good condition. Using oil as a final step is a great idea.

This product has provided well-deserved protection for my wooden cutting board
5/5

I have a beautiful wooden cutting board that I wanted to protect. After learning it is important to coat them in oil, I don't have to sand them or sand them down. However, I did not feel that the 100 percent food grade mineral oil I used was adequate. Here is walrus oil wood wax I found. This protective layer makes the mineral oil last a long time. As opposed to soaking into the cutting board, water beads up on As a result, I feel that everything on my cutting board is protected extremely well. I'll be using this regularly every six months, and I hope this beautiful cutting board will last a long time. I use my cutting board every day. do not believe that a cutting board should be just.

I had to hand wash the cutting board twice to get it dry again
3/5

The purpose of this product is not really clear to me. It is possible that cutting boards for art projects are meant more as art objects to be looked at than Applying it is not as difficult as it seems. If you actually use the surface, it will last about as long as it takes to apply. This method is better when applying to items such as decorative wooden bowls that are not frequently washed.

You've done a great job! I love the look of the cutting boards
5/5

Both boards were treated twice, once at the beginning and then again a few days later. I used it to condition a new cutting board and to sand and condition an old butcher block style cutting board. The primary tip I can offer is that the boards weren't super big, not a countertop or anything, but 2/3 of the 3 oz canister was used by 2 treatments on two boards. I had plenty of time to do some touch-ups It is possible to use a smaller size for up treatments, but if you have a large surface, you might want to use a Compared to canister shoe polish, the consistency of this cleaner is a bit softer.

I found it to be very helpful The cutting board does not have to be limited to cutting
5/5

The mineral oil I've used for years washes off my wooden cutting boards after washing, but they always seem to dry out after just one wash. My Walrus Oil has been working like a charm for me since I purchased it to escape from that. Using it on all of my wooden kitchen items has been a great success for me. Cutting boards, wood bowls, etc. It has also worked for me in other situations, such as my Bonsai shears, made from carbon steel. As a result, the pivot simply glides and the blades are prevented from staining by the wax. The following is a tip In case you like me keep your air conditioner on the lowest setting, warm the object you'll be treating first. Oils won't work as well if it is too hot, so a few degrees hotter will really help.
