Questions & Answers

Do you really need to treat your butcher blocks / cutting boards with both of these products? Could you please explain why this is the case?

It says to use the oil to season your cutting board before using the conditioner previously on Howard's website. I was attracted to this as well. The website says that Cutting Board Oil is perfect for the initial oiling or seasoning of cutting boards, butcher blocks, and other wood products. *br> *br>Directions for Care It is recommended that wood be first seasoned with Howard Cutting Board Oil and then treated with Butcher Block Conditioner for best results.

For deploying this product on a cutting board, what type of cloth is best?

A rich and soft color results from using this product on my raw butcher block. rubbed the oil into the grain of an old kitchen towel with an old kitchen towel. For handling the towels, I used a pair of gloves so my hands wouldn't get so oily, and put them in a quart jar with a lid just to keep them from drying out. It is the only thing I use to retreat across my island ever now and then. As soon as I added the conditioner, I let both sets over night, then used a towel to wipe away any excess that did not Retreating is something I need to do frequently. The cutting board on top of my butcher block is still my preferred cutting board, but it's also perfect for making noodles or bread. If you're looking for a natural finish and don't mind doing a bit of a fresh swipe every now and then, I recommend this product.

For deploying this product on a cutting board, what type of cloth is best?

By using a cloth, you waste a lot of product because the cloth absorbs it. When you feel where the butcher block is saturated and dry using your hand, you will be able to detect the differences. It's easy to spread the oil with your hand. I have a 12 foot butcher block buffet and I use my hand to condition it Each of these products is something that I use. This will make your hand super soft as well.

How does the conditioner bottle work? What are the exact ingredients?

Mineral oil, beeswax, and carnauba wax are among the ingredients in this oil.

If you treat your island during the night, it will have time to absorb the oil and you will need to rub it down well afterwards or else it may leave oil residue on magazines or other objects
4/5

As my island's counter top, I put in a raw wood butcher block. Due to the fact that I roll my dough and make bread on this wood, I didn't want to use stain or chemicals to finish the project. As a natural product, it gives my butcher block a warm appearance. It would be best to treat your island during the night so that it had time to soak up the oil and then rub it down well afterwards since it can left a stain on any magazines or paper you put Since I take the time to rub the oil into my skin, I have had very few episodes of this. It is a great product and I will use it for a long time. I store the cloth I use to wipe on my oil and to wipe it off in a quart jar with a lid and use it periodically to wipe down my book case, wood furniture, cabinets, and any decorations made of wood. As a result of using the cloth in the jar, the oil is limited on wood products and the possibility of getting oil on paper and other items is reduced. The following may be of help to you. It is a good natural product. I gave it 4 stars because of the oil that remains on surfaces if you don't rub it in well. However, otherwise, I would rate it at 5 stars.

The customer has repeatedly purchased from the company

I have been purchasing this combo for more than a year and have been happy with the results. I oil my Boos block and cutting boards weekly, then finishes by oiling an old leather chest, an opossum belly cabinet, and a wood box around the house. My daily routine includes rubbing everything with beeswax about once a month. The surface of the block looks so rich and supple. Beeswax is great to use on leather, wood, old metal, and even on the stovetop in the winter. A better spray product than any other. This is awesome! I love it!.

Wood is a necessity if you own wood kitchen utensils
5/5

Those who are interested in wood cutting boards and salad bowls must have this. If the wood has been affected by water, we recommend cleaning it first with a mild oil and wiping it clean, followed by a strong conditioner and massaging it in. For 5 minutes, let it sit then gently clean all the excess away and very well. Clean all the excess until you can see that any extra is.

The cutting board really came back to life after this treatment
5/5

The conditioner and the oil were bought as a pair. As a note, there is not much of a complaint as these kind of overlap in use. The instructions on both of them instruct you to apply a few coats, and both of them contain a lot The conditioner may not be necessary if your wood is in decent shape, but if your wood is rough and needs to be revived, the conditioner may be the best option. Anyway, this is a bit of a chore, and applying 3-In-One may be the best option. It's a lot of work to apply four coats. I also treated an Ikea butcher block counter top with this product, and it also restored its luster. It did exactly what I wanted and gave a cutting board the desired color and waterproof properties.

I love it! We have been using the oil since installing butcher block counters in the kitchen for quite a few months, and it is wonderful
5/5

The product is easy to apply, doesn't take long, and does not In the end, we decided to buy the wax too because we needed more. I'm amazed at how different things are! There are water heads on the counter and so far they seem to last longer before getting that oily film - A thirsty look on his face. Thank you so much!.

As of yet, I am unsure
3/5

When I bought a butcher block cutting board, it felt dry after a few uses. It is redundant to have both the oil and conditioner, as other reviewers have stated. Unlike the oil, I prefer the water. This is the fifth time I've used it and my block is still drying out after having applied it. Until the bottle has run out, I will apply the conditioner daily. It could just be that my block is new and not yet.

I love the combination of these two! On a new block of butcher block, I used the oil and conditioner
5/5

The instructions called for three coats of each, which I applied over a period of about a week, letting each coat dry overnight in between. It is great to see the results! By adding these colors to the block, it turned it into a rich, warm block where the grain is easily visible. The smell was not an issue, but we applied the oil and conditioner in a workshop before installation, rather than in our kitchen or living room.

This is an absolute must for any new woodworking project! In order to condition and saturate a new butcher block, you will need to soak it first
5/5

To protect the wood from abuse, food, and time, both oils and waxes are required. One bottle of each was more than enough for my entire kitchen to begin the sealing process, and several more months of wax conditioning would be needed. Applied so easily, this stuff goes on with no trouble. My life will never be the same with another brand.
