In light of the pandemic, many of our business costs are rising, and in order to meet the costs and still make money, we have increased the price of our products.
In this kit, there is no solution included, although the larger kit contains one. Also, the solution can be purchased separately. Because the meter is calibrated and ready to use, there is no need to use a solution. There are some customers who desire a way to confirm that the meter is accurately working.
It has been my experience that a very small amount of blood is needed. With the brand that comes with the set, you will notice that the area of the test strip where you are supposed to apply the drop of blood is very small.
The glucose reading is the only information it offers.
Selected User Reviews For Oh’Care Lite Blood Sugar Test Kit – Blood Glucose Meter with Strips and Lancets, Lancing Device, Log, and Case - One Touch Eject Glucometer (50 Strips & 50 Lancets)
Using a glucose meter for the first time was quite challenging for me. My lack of knowledge of a control solution required to calibrate the meter wasn't evident until I opened the kit and read the directions. A separate purchase is not possible since it is not included in the kit. As a result, the meter is of no use. Having that information prior to purchase would have been beneficial. The company also throws in a bottle of control solution when you purchase a separate, larger package of test strips and lancets.
(The doctor told me I was pre-menopausal The problem is that I'm diabetic, and it can get worse if I don't make I loved how easy it was to use this kit! There is a spot in its carrying case for everything it comes in. A nice feature of the finger stick is that it can be positioned to suit the user, and it takes only a few seconds to take Kit is exactly what I was looking for.
It is impossible for most glucose meters to tell you if they are working correctly unless you have a blood sample in order to compare them to. Blood in the fingertip and blood in the veins are very different, I understand. I have to say but I seem to get a different number every time I use this thing. To take an average, I need to take In my opinion, that's the only true way to determine how well I'm doing.
I am pregnant and diabetic-like according to my doctor's findings. The goal of getting this was for me to keep track of trends pertaining to my sugar and make sure I'm making all the right changes with my diet. These things are kinda essential for me All the other people who use them do as well, I would imagine. Two years ago, I bought one of these meters for my late son, who is no longer with us. Several times a day, he needed to check his blood sugar level because of hypoglycemia. In this case, I relied on the readings provided by the meters. The very next day, he was in the hospital, and his blood sugar was extremely low. As if it were the Using my original meter, I found that he was in the It's not possible for me to have that, I'm Those weeks I'd spent at home (I only had him at home for four weeks, the rest he spent in hospital PICUS) I thought we had been managing his blood sugar, but I'd never seen him blood sugar lower than right at home. In other words, we had a zero The faith effect.
Cut to now, pregnant, and needing one of these idiotic contraptions. Those unreliable readings are back again. Honestly, I believe these shouldn't be allowed at all. You tell me to use a control solution to ensure it's calibrated, so I'll do that. What kind of packaging did this come in? Not at all. This is the light version, ok, but it also comes with everything else on the planet, which I appreciate. Can't you just put a few drops of control solution in it? The product should at least be reliable to get the customer up and running, but don't stuff up the directions with full-page paragraphs about test solutions and how to test, AND NOT GIVE ANY SOLUTIONS. The situation is a mess. It was a tough day yesterday for my sugar levels. As of today, they seem to be doing well. So far, the doctor has taken my blood, but I guess we'll have to wait and see what my blood levels look like. I do believe the averaging of 3 numbers is realistic until then, even though it is My only wish is that there was more strips and lancets, and that it came with a You can easily use it. Yet, there is no way I will ever use this to document and show my doctor my sugar levels. The following is an update from one week ago As it turns out, I am required to include it on my diabetes log for my doctor to see. Due to this, I have been compelled to purchase the control solution at a cost of $10 more. We hope this eases any concerns you might have. In addition, I can also get a reading in the doctor's office and have them compare it to the official one. After seeing the averages of three readings, I am no longer so worried. The numbers in my chart seem to correlate well with the changes I've made to my diet. The same number was given to me twice when I checked. I'll still take a shot at this. In the unlikely event that it cannot hold its weight with the doctors machine, I will have to obtain one approved by my insurance. A. LATEST UPDATE After about 2 months I have actually come to like this little meter set. (Pictures show comparison between OhCare and Freestyle meters. ) The cost of the replacement lancets and test strips does not please me, and I've already spent $300 on BS supplies that way. My favorite part of the meter is its interface, however I don't like the lancer. In the recent past, I ran out of supplies yet again, and I got tired of ordering new ones when I was sure my insurance covered the cost of one In conjunction with my dietitian, I had an RX for Freestyle put in. I DON'T LIKE. This OhCare one has totally won me over. It is so much easier for me to use the lancer, the Freestyle lancets are thicker gauge and I destroy my fingers going through the Freestyle lancets every time. I wear the lancer on a two I was on a 4 with OhCare. When I used the Oh Care, I never experienced bleeding problems. However with Freestyle, I've been bleeding everywhere for a while, not stopping until it stops. The OhCare meter also works better for me than the Freestyle meter. In the OhCare, there are a lot of buttons including the power button, scrolling up and down, the time and date, etc. In the Freestyle, there is no power button just lettering, which I don't like or like how the scrolling is used. The bottles of OhCare also appeal to me more. As soon as you press a finger on the test strips, they easily come out of the container. The time it takes you to set up a baby in 10 seconds gets more and more natural when you know this 900 million times a day. For the Freestyle, the strips are stored in a smaller bottle and are made of a different material. They do not slide easily out of the bottle. Setup of the Freestyle is more time-consuming than what it takes for As well as the case, I like how the OhCare looks. The quality of the Freestyle is far superior. Even though the grass is often greener, this isn't always the case. It is rather like the OhCare and I recommend it for people who either don't have insurance and need something easy to use, or are looking to change meters and are not in need of.
It has been determined that I have It is recommended that I check my fasting glucose level once a week using a meter, recommended by my doctor. As long as I do not have diabetes type 2, my insurance company will not cover the cost. On Amazon as well as at the pharmacy, I looked at several meters. Its affordability is what led me to choose this meter. It is not only exceptionally economical to buy the meter itself and the initial kit, but it is half the price of some other brands to buy additional strips and lancets. In comparison with the meter I used at my doctor's office, I purchase this one and it is incredibly accurate. I am very satisfied with the.
As I have used it on myself and my sister a few times, I'm not sure how other people have found it. Since I have PCOS and I don't want to develop diabetes, I got the test. The numbers varied however, when we put it to the test. After eating, it would register below 90 and a few seconds later, on the same finger it would register below 90, then above 90 again Poke the same place, the same way There was a reading of Similarly, my sister was subjected to the same misfortune. There was no way to be accurate with the numbers since they varied so drastically. It is because I don't trust the readings that I was given that I am returning.
I love the cute small portable case the meter comes in and how it fits perfectly into my hands. use this meter to check my sugar four times a day and I do not experience much pain with the lancet device. I appreciate that it is an affordable and accurate device. This meter's results were compared to those from the Accu-Reader There was a very close match between the numbers on Guide meter and the meter. I bought the refills that came with the control solution shortly after this purchase, and once I had them, I tested the meter again. I brought the issue up with customer service after the control solution indicated the meter was defective. The seller responded very rapidly and arranged for a new meter to be sent to me within two As for the new meter itself, it seems to work well and I am pleased with my It's simply advisable to purchase the control solution in order to verify that your meter is functioning properly. I felt the customer service was excellent and the product was nice.
I love the fact that it's so easy to use and so For home usage, I bought this and have been pleased with how easy and convenient it is It is a brand I would recommend!.
Use of the program is super easy. What you ordered is exactly what you got. The fact that it's easy to set up and ready to use is a great benefit.
