Questions & Answers

What is inside the box? Is a syringe included in the kit?

The following items are included in the box: a meter, a pouch, a lancing device, ten test strips, ten lancets, a control solution, and paperwork BTW, I'm a big fan of the accu- Check out the Fastclix lancing device, which comes with a small lancet drum. I now only use a Contour meter when my Freestyle Libre (which I adore) suggests that I do a glucose blood test to cross-check my results. Please double-check my work.

Why is this model so inexpensive in comparison to non-bluetooth models?

This is a brand-new design. br>At Diabetic Corner, we pass on manufacturer promotions to our customers instead of keeping them in our pockets like other chain stores. br>If you have any other questions or concerns about this or any other item in our store, please contact us. br>Many thanks br>Diabetic Corner

Is it possible to check for ketones with this device?

No, it isn't a ketone meter.

Selected User Reviews For The CONTOUR NEXT ONE Blood Glucose Monitoring System

This is an excellent test! So, I'm a big fan of this little device! I needed to check my blood sugar (I'm on a keto diet right now, and it's doing wonders for my health!)

) and chose this because it appeared to be the most convenient, as well as the fact that it pairs with my phone and stores records. br>br>Like many others, I initially struggled to keep it connected to my phone (HTC10) until I discovered a simple trick. I open the app, turn on the meter device, place it next to my phone (where it is stored as a paired device), turn my Bluetooth phone setting off, then back on, hit "Scan" on my phone, and then return to the app, and it connects every time, no problems. It wouldn't connect after being turned off and left for a day or so, but I was freaking out and re-paired it. I used to have to pair it from scratch every time, but then I discovered that all I had to do was turn my Bluetooth off and on as described above, and it was instantly recognized. br>br>I like that you can specify what meal you had, whether you were fasting or eating before or after a meal, and that all of the data is easily stored and graphed, and that it also tells you if you're within your target range. I like how small it is, how well it holds everything, and how simple it is to use. br>br>Only a small amount of blood is required on the strip, and I've never had a failed or problematic reading. br>br>I didn't care for the lancing device that came with the kit - It was excruciatingly painful for me - As a result, I placed an order for Softclix from Accu- Check, and it's almost painless; there are no problems with the required poke at all. I simply swapped it out with the other one because it fits perfectly in the carry case that came with this meter. br>br>It's a little absurd that our medical system requires us to be our own doctors, but devices like this allow us to do so. My blood sugar is under control, and my weight, blood pressure, and overall health are all improving thanks to the keto diet. br>br>This tool is a wonderful addition to my self-care routine! br>br>It's a must-have!.

Check that the safety seal is intact and that all of the contents are present
3/5

The safety seal was cut, and the lance device was missing, so I placed an order for a replacement.

Accuracy
4/5

Well, I bought this one because of the positive reviews and the hope that it will be accurate. All of the meters out there are 100% inaccurate and that is a fact. They only need to be within a certain percentage of the actual A1C to be sold. Here's an example: since being diagnosed with diabetes 2, I've been using a True Metrix for months. Before going to bed, I took my reading and got three different results from three different strips: 112, 99, and 140? Wow, I obviously want the 99 to be my reading material, but is that the case? Returning to the Contour meter, I checked my sugar with both and they were never the same. They were as close as 6 points apart at times, but as far apart as 25 points at other times. I don t think there is a 100% accurate meter on the market unless your doctor does it all the time . I guess you could take your meter to your next blood draw However, even with this meter, if you take three readings with three expensive strips one after the other, you will not get identical results, which may surprise you. The meter itself is nice and simple to use; it's also smaller than most, making it easy to carry around. Bluetooth connectivity is convenient because your app will automatically record your readings as long as it is nearby and open. All I have to say about meters is to use your common sense. Even if the actual readings differ by a small percentage, it gives you a rough idea of where you are. Even though the strips are more expensive, I really like this meter and would recommend it. I would advise against purchasing a meter simply because it has the cheapest strips; instead, read the reviews and use your best judgment, and eat healthy, avoiding sugary foods and beverages. Take precautions.

I didn't get what I ordered
3/5

I ordered the contour next to one smart meter so that I could sync it with my phone. Next meter, I was given the standard contour. Although I like the meter, it does not sync with my phone, and I already own one. It is not possible to return a blood-related item. Be aware that you may not receive exactly what you ordered if you order this.

This is a faulty product
3/5

It appears that I received a faulty item. br>The item itself appears to be well-made and well-designed, but it did not function. br>It turns on, but nothing happens when I insert the strip and put my blood on it; the little icon strip was blinking for me to "put my blood" on it, which I did, but nothing happened. br>I went through the entire process three times! I pinched three different fingers using three different strips. It's just terrible.

Good for keeping track of things
5/5

This meter keeps track of everything on my husband's iPhone, which he appreciates. He used to create his own spreadsheets, but now he doesn't have to.
