How Our Score Is Calculated

Product Description

A delectable Tuscan speciality
Since 1858, in the same bakery on Via Ricasoli in the heart of Prato, the majority of the pastries have been made by hand.
Made with flour, farm fresh eggs, sugar, almonds, bitter almonds, and a few pine nuts to give it that golden yellow color.
For over a century, our products have been packed in traditional blue paper bags tied with traditional string.
Tuscany is where we start.

Questions & Answers

What kind of flavor do they have? What is the approximate number of items in the bag?

The flavor is similar to that of a semi-sweet chocolate. The almonds are embedded in the crisp and crunchy baked dough, giving it a sweet candied almond flavor. Delallo's, Biscotti Brothers, and Nonnis are all far superior. I don't know how many are in the bag because they're so small. The large 8 is what I always buy. 8oz bag. You'll never know how good they are until you give them a shot!

Is it true that these contain anise seeds?

The following is a list of the ingredients: wheat flour, sugar, almonds (20%), fresh eggs and pine nuts

Such a letdown
3/5

We first purchased these in Florence and were thrilled to discover that they were now available on Amazon. br>br>When the package arrived, it appeared to be in good condition, but the product was stale, which disappointed us. So, like the other reviewer, I thought the biscotti were a few years old. It's a shame, because they're delicious when they're still warm.

It's delicious
5/5

It's not overly sugary. Crisp, to be sure. They soften immediately after being dipped in tea. Delicious.

This is the authentic version
5/5

This is the genuine article. The "biscotti" on the market in the United States is a poor substitute.

In Italy, they are always eaten. They're the best, but for that liytylr bag, they're way too expensive.

Biscotti are so lovely
5/5

We're whisked away to Italy, where we first tasted these delightful morsels. They're authentically delicious and go great with a cup of coffee in the morning. Biscotti's gold standard.
