Questions & Answers

How much does a "bunch" weigh in terms of weight?

I give them a 6 on the scale. 9oz ~8. For my orders, I use 5 oz.

Is it possible that some of the vegetables are organic?

Although most Amazon Fresh items are organic, the one I bought was not. To ensure you get the right one, type "organic spinach" into the search bar.

Do you have some spare time? Instead of bagged spinach, I purchased this
5/5

First and foremost, $1 gets you a LOT of spinach. It was extremely fresh and dark green in color. The flavor was mild and fresh once again! The disadvantage (at least for me) is that to remove the sand from fresh spinach, you must wash it several times. Who knew sand could be so useful? (So why isn't spinach the main crop in Florida rather than oranges?) Spinach is grown in sand. I'm sorry, but I'm getting off track. Okay, after giving everything a good bath (rinse and repeat), I hung everything up to dry on paper towels. When it's dry, I stack it between layers of paper towels in a large flat plastic container (think Rubbermaid). It lasted a total of ten days. It stayed crisp, green, and fresh for an extended period of time. Bottom line: get fresh spinach if you have the time. As for me, I've had my fill of the adventure and am now returning to my spinach bag.

The version that came with my most recent order was nearly inedible
3/5

I've ordered this before and received exactly what I was looking for: leafy spinach suitable for salads. This time, I got a tough, dark green version that was barely edible. Previously, the stems were small, as shown in the Amazon image; however, The stems in this batch were an inch in diameter, resembling mini tree trunks, and the leaves of whatever this is are the size of sheets of paper, nearly black in color, and difficult to chew. This looks like spinach, but I'm not sure it is. If that's the case, it's a cattle-feeding variety, not something fit for human consumption.

This is a source from which I will never purchase this leafy vegetable
3/5

It smelled bad and didn't smell fresh, and when I washed it, the water turned green after a few washes. The water shattered it. I'm sorry, but I'm unable to accept it back. However, I am taught a valuable lesson - Such vegetables will not be purchased online by me; instead, I will purchase root vegetables. I considered contacting customer service, but I couldn't locate the number. It's not worth wasting any more time on. Simply refrain from doing so in the future.

No joke
3/5

Even to the pigs, I wouldn't feed the group they sent me. I'll have to add a photo to this post to show you how bad this spinach was when it arrived. It appeared to be freezer damaged, with yellowing and shoggy spots. Hope Fresh isn't hiring visually impaired employees to pick out produce for customers, as this appears to be the case more and more. In just this one order, I had five items that appeared to be blindfolded workers picking out my fruits and vegetables.

I am overjoyed
5/5

WOW! I tried Amazon Fresh for a free trial and liked it, but I don't buy many groceries. I decided to try again because I haven't been able to get to the supermarket in a long time for the few things I need. Because the prices are so low, I've started including fresh vegetables in my orders. br>br>I just got this spinach in the mail. AMAZING! The "bunch" is a substantial amount, far more than you'd get in a supermarket bag for a much lower price. It was delivered in excellent condition, fresh and undamaged. I couldn't have found this much fresh spinach for such a low price anywhere else in the area. I'm not sure where Amazon gets its produce, but it's always been fresh and perfect.

The food was frozen and mushy
3/5

1/31/2021. EDITORIAL NOTES Among the bunches of frozen mushy mess, I was able to salvage a few decent pieces of spinach. I uploaded photos to Amazon. br>br>1/31/2021br>I bought it again because I needed it. I wish I had brought my camera. The bunches were large and attractive. The pieces, on the other hand, were enormous. I'm talking about the size of my hands here! I was completely unaware of this. I've never seen spinach grow to such proportions. I would have assumed it was a different vegetable if I hadn't known it was spinach! When I first saw the spinach, the first thing that came to mind was rhubarb leaves from my grandfather's farm. I couldn't use it for salad because I didn't have any. The leaves were tough to break through. The stems grew to be enormous! I removed the stems in the same way that I remove collard green stems. Before I could cook the leaves, I had to cut them into quarters. It was a success.

Inedible
3/5

Whole Foods was the one who delivered it. It was completely wilted and reeked of staleness, so I had to discard it. I was surprised they still had it in stock, let alone that my personal shopper chose it for me. It's complete nonsense. I'm sure this was an outlier, and I've contacted the store to express my disappointment. The delivery of all of my other items was flawless.

I'm not going to buy anything else
3/5

It arrived in a lovely green state, with large leaves. After that, there was a huge letdown. That's all there was to it; nice big fresh leaves on the outside and yellow tiny leaves on the inside, with so many turning leaves hidden among the big fresh ones that I couldn't make a proper meal out of three bunches. I'm not going to buy anything else in the future.
