If you have a Publix in your area, as a last resort, use their grocery delivery service. God bless you and grant you favor.
Hundreds of people buy the same item every day. You'd know if there was an outbreak if there was one. Just because an area has previously experienced an ecoli outbreak does not mean it will do so again. Is it true that most airlines have had a crash in the past, and that you would never fly that airline again?
You are not one of them. Mine was crawling with bugs, so I suppose that's one sign it's natural.
I'm not sure why yours appears with five heads. I go to Amazon Fresh, click on Romain, and it says 1 head for 1 dollar. Check the box for the number you want to order; perhaps yours loads as 5 instead of 1 for some strange reason? best of luck

It arrived infested with bugs; I washed it five times and found dead bugs in every spin of the salad spinner. br>br>Finally gave up, but it ruined the dinner salad we had planned, and there were grubs on the counter where it had been before the chopping and cutting. Gross.
Only about a quarter of it could be put to good use. The rest had to be discarded because it was brown.
I bought two romaine stalks; the first batch was fine, with the usual damage. The second, on the other hand, contained these tiny monsters.
infested with insects During the initial rinse, I was taken aback by how filthy the lettuce was, with bugs and dirt floating around. Even after rinsing it seven times under running water, I could still see bugs coming off of it. I had no choice but to discard it.
Spoiled.
I ordered two of these because they appeared to be the same size as the three-pack I purchased at the supermarket. Each of them was enormous. They were very crisp and lasted three weeks. br>br> Every day for lunch, I eat a salad, and it took me that long to finish them both.
Although I understand that organic produce can be filthy at times, this was incredibly filling. No matter how many times I rinsed it, I still wouldn't have felt comfortable. Inside, there appeared to be insect webs, and the outer leaves were well past their prime-- shriveled and dingy I finally threw it away.
Arrived barely fresh, with a hint of browning around the edges. It was slimy and wilted in less than 24 hours. I've learned my lesson: buy local produce whenever possible, and use Fresh for non-perishable items. Food that is perishable.
