I placed an order for a 12-pack. Progresso New England Clam Chowder (Pack of 6) When the package arrived, four of the cans were slightly damaged (see photo). So far, I'd opened four cans, and two of them, oddly enough, looked strange when I opened them. The soup had a chunky texture and did not appear to be creamy like a regular can (see attached photo). These two cans' exteriors appeared to be in good condition, with no visible damage. The soup inside, on the other hand, did not appear to be in good condition. I simply discarded them. br>This item cannot be returned. It appears that consumers have no way to express their dissatisfaction. br>I've always assumed that when you buy something on Amazon, you get some sort of guarantee. That doesn't appear to be the case with this one. I'm extremely disappointed!.
We ate the cans we bought, but I must say, we buy and eat clam chowder on a regular basis. This isn't bad, but it's extremely bland, very watery, and there aren't many clams in it. It required the addition of spices as well as canned vegetables. And they're quite pricey, to say nothing of the fact that they don't taste particularly good. Pbr>It's unlikely that I'd suggest it.
Some of the stew cans were old and infected with green mold, which exploded during shipping, obliterating the other items as well as the box containing the green mold and its contents. This was sent to my college-aged brother, who apparently mistook one item for another and developed a severe case of food poisoning, vomiting for a week. We were forced to return the shipment. Clearly, the stew was past its prime and should not have been shipped at all.
I ordered six of these and a bunch of other things, and one of them broke open and spilled all over everything I ordered. Fortunately, it didn't take long for me to clean up the rest of my order.
Traditional Progresso Soup, Potato, Broccoli, and Cheese Chowderbr>br> It's potato chunks in a starch-based "gravy" with broccoli so finely processed that all you get is a mild flavor note, but it's not up to the yumminess standard of other Progresso soups; it's potato chunks in a starch-based "gravy" with broccoli so finely processed that all you get is a mild flavor note. Small amounts of cheddar and blue cheese add a mild cheese flavor note to the dish. Salt is the dominant flavor, with a whopping 1720mg of sodium per can if eaten whole. Yikes! To make it substantial enough to call a meal, we added vegetables and some meat, either a can of tuna or chicken. br>br>Nutrition Factsbr>br>serving size 1 cupbr>servings per container approximately 2br>br>amount per servingbr>calories 210br>calories from fat 110br>total fat 12gbr>saturated fat 3 0g trans fat 5gbr> Polyunsaturated fat (polyunsaturated fat) (polyunsaturated fat) (polyunsaturated fat) (pol Sodium 860mgbr>total carbs 20gbr>dietary fiber 2gbr>sugars 2gbr>protein 5gbr>br>Ingredients: 5gbr>monounsaturated fat 2gbr>cholesterol 15mgbr>cholesterol 15mgbr>Sodium 860mgbr>total carbs 20gbr>dietary fiber 2gbr>sugars 2

The product's name was Beef Barley - which irritated me a lot. I took a picture of a potato chowder recipe. br>Tried twice, then gave up because Amazon was obviously not going to fix the problem. br>Given to a food bank in the hopes that it will be enjoyed by someone.
Clam Chowder from Progresso is delicious. What I like best about this can is that I can practically serve myself from it after microwave-cooking it in a microwave-safe serving dish. I occasionally get two meals from a single can. br>br>I don't season it because I find Progresso's recipe to be just right for my tongue. I admit that I occasionally add oyster crackers, but this is just a habit I picked up as a kid. This traditional New England Clam Chowder comes highly recommended by me. br>br>John br>br>John br>br>John br.
I grew up in New England and was a big fan of the clam chowder there. In terms of flavor and texture, this is the closest I've come. Progresso has produced a fantastic product, which I am about to re-purchase. More should be ordered.
