I bought this soup on the spur of the moment a few years ago, and I have to say, it's one of my all-time favorite combinations! I really enjoy the taste of the vegetables when they're combined. They're freeze-dried and taste great when cooked. Also, there are no added salt and only natural ingredients in this, so you can add whatever else you want, such as chicken. However, you will require a large quantity of chicken broth. I experimented with the recommended cream, as well as milk and evaporated milk. Depending on what you have on hand or whether you want to reduce fat content, any of them will work well. Invite your friends because this recipe makes a large batch. This is a favorite of mine and my family, so I have it on autoship.
This is one of the best corn chowders I've ever had; I follow the instructions and add a package of corn. It is adored by all. br>.
It's incredibly simple to put together. It tastes as if I spent the entire day preparing it, but I didn't. I simply added a few of the package's ingredients. I even threw in a couple of extra ingredients that I thought would complement the dish. I found it at a local craft show the first time I bought it and wanted more, so where did I go to find it? Of course, Amazon. It's perfect with a special loaf of bread and salad on a chilly day. Anyone who enjoys a hearty soup should give it a try. It arrived in excellent condition and on time. The price was reasonable given the convenience and quantity of packages received.
With all the extras, it appears to be a little pricey, but it's well worth it. Freezes are going to happen. Also, it must be frozen until used because it attracts bugs quickly, implying that there isn't enough preservative.
The Illinois Prairie Corn Chowder was by far the most popular soup. It was incredibly simple to make, and it tasted fantastic despite the fact that I added nothing to it (except the fresh corn, as directed on the package). Everyone wanted my soup recipe, and when I told them it was a simple packaged soup, they were surprised. br>br>The package yields about 12 servings of soup. I made two packages because I had such a large group. We were able to send extra servings home with our guests while still having enough for us. br>br>I read somewhere that adding cooked bacon to the soup would be a good idea. Even though the package mix doesn't require any additional flavoring, I'm going to give it a shot next time. I simply enjoy the taste of bacon. br>br>I'd suggest this soup to anyone who enjoys corn, chowder, and a hearty, flavorful soup.
This should be eaten at least once a week. Because I change up the added ingredients, it never tastes the same twice. Escarole one week, spinach the next, corn the third, and so on, with no salt or 'fake' ingredients.
This soup has quickly become one of my favorites. Having said that, I followed the directions and used three ears of fresh corn, placing the cobs in the broth while it was cooking. When I added the cream, I added the corn off the cob and some chopped up roasted chicken, and wow. Simply. Wow. Everyone who has eaten it has given it rave reviews! Love this soup because it's a hearty meal that's easy to make and tastes homemade without all the junk that most commercial soups have.
This soup is one of my favorites, and it tastes even better when dressed up with extra vegetables, a vegetable soup base, and cream or yoghurt. br>I thought the price of $27 for four packages was a little high, so I won't buy it again unless the price drops to $20 or less.
