However, in defense of the soup, it had good flavor, not many clams (or they may have been chopped up), was very satisfying on a cold night, and I could always trust Campbell's for quality. However, because the soup is frequently "out of stock" and expensive in comparison to other soups, I no longer purchase it. I used to buy it in cases a long time ago.

I figured that since I enjoy Campbell's Chunky Manhattan Clam Chowder and some of the other Campbell's Condensed Soups, this would be a good purchase to give it a try. I was completely incorrect in my assumption. br>br>In general, I've come to expect that Campbell's Condensed Soups are not only of good quality, but that you can add water to taste and preference, giving you even more control over how they turn out. This does not work out as well as this particular product. br>br>When you use less water than recommended, the soup becomes excessively gooey and has a harsh, salty flavor; when you use the full cup of water as recommended (which I do not do with the other condensed soups), the result is better but still poor. The soup is still a little too salty (though not as much as before). Furthermore, it is excessively watery (much more so than the thinness that would be expected from diluting a typical condensed soup). The amount of clams is significantly less than in Campbell's Chunky Manhattan Clam Chowder. In addition, there are fewer and blander ingredients. br>br>The reason I gave it a two instead of a one is because canned soups aren't particularly good in general. The Campbell's Chunky Manhattan Clam Chowder, in particular, demonstrates that this product is inferior in comparison, as the chunky style is clearly superior.

We used to eat Campbell's soup as a comfort food. Pepper Pot was a favorite of ours, but we couldn't seem to find it in stores. It has since been phased out. Our second favorite was Manhattan Clam Chowder, which we couldn't find in stores and had to order from Amazon this week. It wasn't the same as it had been previously. A few diced carrots and a lot of diced potatoes were added because the soup was too watery. There is no taste at all. More than $30 was squandered. It has been a very sad day!.

My order was based on the discontinuation of one of Campbell's best soups; I'm not sure what business principle dictated the removal of this finebr>product from Campbell's soup line, but I'm heartbroken.

People seem to associate clam chowder with New England Clam Chowder. the soup made with a cream base Manhattan is one of our favorite cities. Except for here, the tomato base is difficult to come by. We're running low on supplies, so we'll have to place another order.

This soup is fantastic! I was eating this before I even knew what New England clam chowder was. Unfortunately, it is no longer available in stores. It was a pleasant surprise to discover it on Amazon. It's a tomato-based chowder for those who haven't tried it yet. There are small bits of clams and potato chunks in it. It's delicious and ideal for a chilly day.
