It's a powder that's been dry for a long time. I keep it in a dark, dry cabinet because it lasts a long time and has a great flavor.
I keep mine in the refrigerator and it lasts at least 6 months if I don't eat it all.
Warkins Soup/Gravy Mixes are my favorite. I've been using it since the Watkins man used to make house calls at my mother's house. I'm not sure I understand what you're asking; This, however, is a soup and gravy combination. Stick to the instructions on the back panel. I mostly use it as a soup base, but I start with a homemade rue and then add vegetables and chicken. noodles. Alternatively, use as a soup base for corn and other vegetables. My only caution is to be wary of any additional salt, as soup bases have a tendency to be salty.br>The Beef makes the best stroganoff in the world!

Watkins changed the formula for this soup and gravy base, and it now contains a lot of soy protein, which is a common allergen in my family. Why did they have to ruin a good product? They already had a winner, but as time goes on, we're seeing every soup company, starting with Campbells, gradually change their formula to the point where people who are sensitive to soy have no choice but to make their own broth. That is not at all practical. br>br>Another point of contention for me is that this is now made with hydrogenated soy oil. Anything hydrogenated is harmful to your health. This is a product that I do not recommend.
This is a powerful flavor for beef stews, sauces, gravies, and just about anything else. We got upset stomachs after using it, so we stopped using it. I'm not sure why, and it's currently residing in my refrigerator alongside other items that I may or may not use again. In terms of thickening and flavor, it was successful. I'm not sure I'd buy it again, though. It came in a sealed tub, but because it's a paste, I wondered if it'd been frozen and thawed several times.
Given the small serving size, this may not have been a deal breaker for me because the sipping flavor is excellent. Even after an hour in liquid, however, there are still some off-flavors. putting gritty bits in there that don't dissolve and don't appear to add flavor. Stirring the cup only re-immersed the bits in the liquid, not dissolved them or made them less offensive to me.
It's GMO and contains a lot of sodium. I should've read the description's label first. This chemical concoction would not have been purchased by me, and I will dispose of it. It contains disodium inosinate, a substance similar to MSG that can have negative effects on the body. After I add hot water to my cup of broth, something floats to the top. It reminds me of wax globs that refuse to dissolve.
I didn't look at the ingredients list on the side, but it contains Soy bean flour, which I don't like.
Because I couldn't find a local dealer, I was delighted to discover it on Amazon. I also enjoy the chicken.
I first purchased Watkins beef soup and gravy mix at a Salt Lake City boat show. It turned out to be an incredible product, and nothing in the store can compare to the taste. I was hesitant to purchase this because it was a little out of my price range. But I decided to take the plunge and purchase it. I've already used it twice, and I believe the difference is due to the butter you use to make the gravy.
Like a good pot roast juice, it adds a rich, beefy flavor to whatever you put it in. This is a fantastic gravy base. I'm never using bouillon cubes again!.
