The sodium content in one can is 510mg, or about 22 percent of the daily sodium requirement. We are all surprised by how much sodium is in 99% of packaged foods in the US. It is understandable that sugar and salt are used to hide the low quality of the food compared to prepared meals in France or Italy, but to add 510mg of sodium to a can of soup is ridiculous. I think it is hilarious that Low Sodium is on the label. Unfortunately, you often cannot find a decent product without salt, even organic and "healthy" brands in the US have mountains of salt in them
It is not a concentrated type of soup like Campbell's condensed soup line, but you can also add pasta and pasta sauce to it to make it stretch further. Two cups of gluten free cooked penne are added to a can of Amy's soup recipe along with 3/4-1 cup of a good pasta sauce or Marinara and additional green peas, or other vegetables to create a large pot of soup that is easily able to serve four. You can even add some crushed water crackers or saltines to give it more bulk. If you want to make an even bigger pot of soup, throw in diced cooked white potatoes, sliced cooked carrots, or any other canned vegetables that you have on hand. If you want an even better taste, add garlic salt, pepper, basil, and oregano to the dish.

There is no reason for Amazon to put all of Amy's soups I increased the star ratings of some to three because they are definite improvements over others. It would have been a 2 star rating for the tomato soup. The next time I want something that sweet and with that much sugar, I will just opt for a candy bar. The tomato soup is not recommended.

I made the soup for my son, and he loved it. I am very pleased with the product. The lowest score I gave it is due to my last order arriving with more dented and damaged cans than I expected. The plastic packaging and padding used for shipping must be more robust. A small bubble and one inadequately-sized plastic item were all that were in its original packaging it was in a too-large box with another small item and another small item. In addition, the cans appeared to be in a more damaged condition than would seem to indicate The cans were more worn than the box, in other words. It occurred to me that the cans may have been sent to me in such poor shape. There appears to be no damage to the cans, but one has been damaged. Having grown up, I know my mom would never purchase a can that had even the most minor dent in it. You would get botulism if you ate food that came from a can like that! My apologies for the joke, but I haven't contacted Amazon yet, but they have always had excellent customer service, and I’m certain they would fix things for me. There's no question why Amy's Tomato Bisque turns out to be a hit. The soup recipes that Amy makes are the best for vegetarians as they are less expensive than the other types of soups. Since I don't like canned tomato bisque, I've decided to make and freeze my own. However, I prefer Amy's to those sold in cans.
As a result I buy this for my mom who limits her sodium, cholesterol, and fat intake to ensure her health. That soup is her favorite, and she says it's the best canned tomato soup ever! Despite the fact that it's a frozen meal, she raves about its taste and She can enjoy them as often as she likes because they have decent nutritional value. Whenever my mom is preparing some, I often see my sister stealing a bowl from her. Now my sister raves about it too. Other recipes, sauces, and so forth have started using it as a base.
