Hi ! Thank you for reaching out to us with your query. The product is packaged in two bags. 1 LB. To ensure a long shelf life, store the bag in the refrigerator once opened, making sure to reseal the bag. This is a very dry, low-water-activity granule product. You won't have any problems storing for a long time.
It does not contain gluten. However, this is not an official certification. Bonito, Shitake mushrooms, and kelp make up the majority of this dish. Monosodium L glutamate, Disodium 5 isonate, and Disodium 5 guanylate are among the preservers. It has a flavor that is very similar to real Dashi, and if you've ever had Miso soup, you've probably had it. I only use it when I'm in a hurry; otherwise, I make it with bonito flakes and kombu.
Yes, I believe that is correct. It contains hydrolyzed protein, msg, fish flakes, and other ingredients, but it does not contain gluten.

MSG was not listed as one of the key ingredients in the product description; instead, glucose was listed first. Shiitake powder and kelp powder were the last two ingredients on the list, but the description only mentioned bonito, shitake, and kelp as if they were the only ones, which is why I bought it. The vendor, in my opinion, misled the clients. Unfortunately, it is not returnable, so I will have to discard it.
For my family's dinner, I used this to make delicious Miso. We completed the dish by adding extra firm tofu, dehydrated heirloom skitake mushrooms, organic dried shiso, and scallions. We loved it so much that we ate it for three days straight before moving on to other soups and recipes. This is now a regular seasoning in my kitchen.
This is what I use for miso soup on a regular basis. This broth is incredible. 1/2 tsp red miso in 10 oz water 1 rounded tsp red miso I'm not sure how long a single bag will last. It's been a few months since we've last seen each other. Very cost-effective.
My delivery on October 5th was due on November 29, 2020, which was the best by date.
2. Because 2 LB is a large quantity, I'll follow the seller's recommendation to keep it refrigerated once it's been opened.
Dashi is something I've never worked with before, though I'm sure I've eaten it. "Cooked," a book by Michael Pollan, inspired me to learn more about umami. creating an ingredient, describing how it's made, and implying that it's the 5th flavor people crave (i. e. , salty, sour, and so on). This product added a meaty/smoky richness to all of the dishes I tried it in (not just Asian-inspired dishes). (inspiring). Anyway, they send a lot of material for me to work with, which I appreciate. I would (and have) recommended it to my cooking-inclined family members.
Every meal should have miso as a side dish. It is, without a doubt, comfort food, and it also fills me up for fewer calories. However, making it from scratch takes time, and many instant powders contain ingredients I dislike or are only available in single-serving sizes. serving packages that aren't very good for the environment This one is simple and healthy, and two pounds will last a long time!.
The product does its job, adds the necessary flavor, and is easy to store because it is a dry, rather than a liquid, product. It's a must-have ingredient for miso soup!.
