It is made in Japan, to be sure.
The ingredients list on the product I received does not match the ingredients list in the description photo. br>br>On the package I received today, there were the following ingredients: Roasted Flying Fish, Dried Round Herring, Dried Kelp, MALTODEXTRIN, Dried Sardine Extract Powder, Yeast Extract, Salt, Soy Sauce Powder [Soy Sauce (Salt, Wheat, Defatted Soybeans, Soybean, Glucose, Wheat Protein, Rice, Alcohol), Maltodextrin], Fermented Seasoning [Fermented Seasoning (Soybean, Wheat), Starch Hydrolysate, Contains: Sardine, round herring, bonito, flying fish, wheat, and soybean are some of the foods available. br>br>I'm extremely dissatisfied. Their portrayal of this product leads one to believe it contains only the best ingredients and is extremely healthy. Because of the price, you'd think the ingredients would be of high quality. They fail to mention the additives and preservatives that are present. My copy has been returned.
You wouldn't get a clear broth if you opened the bag and dumped the contents into the water. It's best to use a bag to strain the broth after it's been cooked, as it does a better job.
It's been a year since I bought the last batch. I just finished it today, so I'm here to buy more. After a year in a cool, dark pantry, the flavors are still fully developed. To be honest, I'm sure it'd be great in a year or two.

The ingredients listed in the description are not the same as the ones listed on the product I received. I've included a picture of the ingredients panel on the product I received. br>br>From the product description and Q/A, we get the impression that this is a high-quality product made with "ALL NATURAL" and healthy ingredients. The high price of this product would lead you to believe that we're paying this much for all of the high-quality ingredients in the product, but after this experience, I wouldn't trust anything I buy from this company. I received a full refund after returning this item.
In comparison to having a large bag of flakes, these individual bags are extremely convenient. The flavor is fantastic. There was no MSG in sight. Regardless, it appears to be of higher quality than most, and the company offers a variety of other products that I may investigate.
I used to make my own dashi but became frustrated with the large pot of dashi that took up so much room in my refrigerator. You will be able to do so with the help of this brand. Simply place a packet in water, bring to a boil, and serve. It tastes exactly like homemade miso soup when you add miso and whatever else you want to it. It does not appear to contain MSG or any artificial flavoring, which other dashi packets do.
This is some top-notch material. The majority of commercial dashi is a concoction of chemicals and phony flavors - This dashi, on the other hand, is devoid of all of that. It's real dashi, made with real food and the highest quality ingredients, and it's freezer-friendly. dried into packets for a long shelf life and kitchen convenience They recommend steeping the packets like tea. br> Okay, maybe that's "how it's done," but it seems to me like a waste of the powder's nutritional value. I use the powder to make dashi rice (with hijiki or shiratake), broths, and sauces from scratch. Saffron rice from Dashi is an off-the-beaten-path delicacy. the- delicious food chain - But I'm getting off topic: Kayanoya Dashi is a must-have. br>We tried all of the flavors, and while vegans might prefer the veggie broth option, the regular stuff in the big bag is the best value. In our house, things move quickly!.
This is an excellent product that evokes the aromas of Japanese ramen/udon restaurants. That is how good it is. Of course, it tastes fantastic as well. Remember to use enough, or such a result will not be achieved, which also means the product is quite expensive, though it is always worth it.
This is a pricey ingredient, but it's the key to making authentic Asian cooking. Every time I make chicken fried rice, I add a packet of dashi. It's fantastic, and I'm going to order more of it.
These packets have been used to make udon and ramen. My mother has visited Japan and is a fan of Udon noodle soup, so I bought this for her birthday. She was ecstatic! Also, because covid prevents me from going out to eat, it's nice to incorporate some authentic Japanese flavors into my mangled versions of my favorite foods. I don't believe it's suspicious in the least.
This Dashi brand was recommended by a Japanese friend, and it smells and tastes fantastic. In its resealable bag, it stays fresh for a long time. This book comes highly recommended.
