It can be resealed, of course. However, because the sealing strip doesn't always work, I use a bag clip to ensure it stays closed and avoid having to clean up a flurry of bonito chips. My cat, by the way, is a big fan!
Yes, you can make Dashi for takuyaki using it (along with seaweed). It's what I use to make Dashi, which I use in my Miso. It adds a lot of umami flavor to the dish.
No, I do not believe that is true. They are salted for at least a year before being stacked with weights. Then they're shaved into thin paper-thin sheets, just like hard rock. Bagged with air and shaped like flakes We used ours to sprinkle over rice for a couple of months, and I simply closed it after rolling out the majority of the air. Bonito flakes have become a favorite of my husband's! Best regards.

Be aware. I just got this product (June 15, 2018) and discovered that the sell-by/eat-by date had passed me by (May 5, 2018). Although it is written in Japanese, selling old food is unethical.
As a result, I put the crumbs in her dry food and place an order for a new bag for her. She's been eating these for about 4 years and has never refused them (except for the crumbs from the bag's bottom). They appear to be healthy for her, in my opinion. They are popular among the Japanese, who use them as a base in soups and broths, as well as a topping on a variety of dishes. This bag lasts a long time; I buy about three of them at a time. 4 a year. This is a fantastic, healthy cat treat! Fish and seaweed are the only things on the table.
PEOPLE WHO ARE GLAD TO BE APART OF IT. WELCOME TO THE WORLD OF SALES! These Bonito Flakes are delicious, and my cat and I eat them right out of the bag. the- Every single day, a bag! They arrived in perfect condition (large, thin flakes with a strong fresh scent, indicating that the flesh was sliced when it was firm and fresh). I've canned, smoked, frozen, and prepared dishes with West Coast albacore tuna, which is similar to bonito, for decades. In the 1970s, I had the honor of preparing meals for the 2-person team. man crew of a one-of-a-kind schooner/troller that was built for long-distance travel 200-mile line for these quick and spectacular fish. That fish was gutted and cleaned right on deck before being placed in the hold to quickly chill. When fish are treated with respect, the end result has no resemblance to "commercial" store-bought fish. Tuna was purchased. These flakes are the "real deal" and make fantastic broth, soups, and a variety of other Asian and Polynesian dishes. (The closest thing I've found is Costco's Kirkland brand. ) When I come in from the extreme cold we've had in the GA Mtns, just melting a few tasty flakes on my tongue gives me an instant protein boost. (of all places), and my amusing cat sprints up the stairs. all the way down- Each snack is passed around. However, there is one caveat: If you're like me and have been spoiled by Amazon Prime, order early and allow an extra week for delivery; this is a steal at $8. If you live in a remote area without access to specialty stores, etc. , 29 with free shipping is a good option. Also, just so you know, I trust Japanese food and would not have purchased this item from a foreign country. CATS WHO ARE JOYFUL! PEOPLE WHO ARE GLAD TO BE APART OF THIS! WELCOME TO THE WORLD OF SALES!.
What I was looking for. Making takoyaki has never tasted so good (probably because it was my first attempt). It's a fairly large bag that can be used for a variety of purposes. br>br>I made about 12-br>br>I made around 12-br>br>I made around 12-br I made 16 cups of dashi stock (one handful of bonito flakes, a medium-sized chunk of kombu, and 4 cups of water) and topped four takoyaki platters, but it's still half full. br>br>It also tastes good. It's similar to thin fish jerky, but without the strong fishy aroma. Excellent product at an excellent price.
I was hoping that this would encourage her to eat more, as she is currently only eating half of what she used to. She sneezed after smelling these, which I crushed down. They have an odor similar to. . . bbq fish? I'm sorry, but I'm not sure how to describe it. She wasn't a fan of the sprinkles for some reason. How long do cats take to react to this? Most reviews make it seem like it happened right away. On a side note, Amazon's shipping on this was terrible; it arrived in a poly bag that had been taped shut? The bag's end was also taped, which was an issue. Because the end of the packaging was so badly mixed in with the tape on the packaging, I had to cut it completely open and dump the flakes into a container.
Cat did not come close to touching. dissatisfied With the bag open to my nose, I can't detect anything. My cat was completely uninterested. I couldn't wait to give it to my Persian. Maybe it was just a bad batch for me. I was taken aback because the reviews were overwhelmingly positive. Although I haven't looked back since, I don't recall anyone saying there was disinterest or a lack of scent. I've made numerous attempts to offer. My son is uninterested in anything. I'm going to soak some and add them to his food, as well as experiment with using them in my own cooking. Please don't be put off by my experience. This, as well as other similar brands, has received rave reviews. That is not my boy, though. I'm even going to try buying something else - Perhaps a different manufacturer.
The bags were in great shape when they arrived, and the. The flakes are thin, tasty, and have a pleasant aroma. The bags arrived in excellent condition, with large flakes rather than crumbles. It's a delicious and simple dish to prepare. This was purchased as a possible treat for my dogs, and they absolutely adore it. These fish flakes are a staple in their diet. We're quickly depleting the first bag, so I'll need to repurchase. My girls give it four paws up, and I give it two thumbs up.
If you want to make Japanese-style broth, this is also a good option. Simply place a handful of it in a pot of boiling water, and you've got yourself a delicious broth!.
