It has a strong fishy odor because that's what it is, and I've never met a cat who doesn't like it. There's a slight smoky odor. It appears that your cat will enjoy it, but it does not appear that you will.
Julie, good day. It weighs in at four ounces. I was under the impression that it weighed 7 ounces as well. The seller, in my opinion, has misrepresented it. I complained to Amazon, and they eventually gave me a refund and told me I could keep the bag. I couldn't keep it and gave it to a friend in good conscience. It's a complete ruse. My cat, on the other hand, was completely enthralled. It'll last a long time if you use it as a treat. At around $100 per pound, it should!
No, but my cats, who aren't picky eaters, didn't care for it.
It says in the product specifications that it is made in Japan.

I've tried other brands that are similar, but he won't let me buy anything other than these! Our nightly routine is that he gets a small portion of this treat at bedtime; I swear he waits all day and starts meowing as soon as we start climbing the stairs to bed! I'm glad I came across it because it's a fantastic product. It is superior to less expensive brands. The flakes are large and have a better texture. I'm hoping they don't stop making them, or my cat will be forced to leave!.
My cat's whiskers move the flakes or his breath blows them away when he tries to eat them because they are so thin. He finds it difficult to 'catch' them and see them to eat. Also, because there are so many tiny bits, I end up sprinkling the powder/bits over wet food, which kitty enjoys. I'm switching to chunks instead of flakes.
Bonito flakes are a favorite of my cat's, so I buy them in bulk. man- These came in the form of powdered dust and cannot be given to a cat as a treat because there is nothing to eat! What a waste! They'll end up in the trash!.
I'd known bonito flakes as hanakatsuo for years before they became known as kitty caviar, and there are now a plethora of brands. These are thicker, but only about half of the flakes aren't crushed, so they're almost powder. It's much cheaper to buy a large bag of hanakatsuo at an Asian market, but I liked the idea of thicker flakes. It's very disappointing to have half of the bag crushed.
What's more, there are bulk bags available, making it a lot cheaper.
These types of treats are popular with our picky cat, but they're messy. This is the first time I've ordered from this particular retailer, and it's also the first time I've ordered from Amazon. Half of the contents of the package spilled into the shipping container (envelope) when the package was opened. As a result, I'm not sure if they're safe to feed to our cat at this time. Because of this, I will most likely not order them again.
These are a big hit with my cat. As she chews the flakes, I enjoy hearing her make little crunchy sounds. When we get to the bottom of the bag and there are still crushed flakes left, I sprinkle them on top of her food as a special treat. She's completely enamored!.
Although it is costly in my opinion, she enjoys it more than any other gift I have given her. br>br>When I open the bag, I have to hold my nose because the smell is so strong. Perhaps this is why she adores it so much.
