On the label, there is nothing indicating how the cows are fed. Nevertheless, I have a concern about one of the comments. Despite the fact that artificial hormone treatment of cows does not affect milk of cows that have not been treated with synthetic hormones, no significant difference has been found between them.
When making clarified butter, you heat the whey and milk solids until they separate from the butter. Whey will rise to the top and solids will sink to the bottom. Skim the whey and pour in if the clarified butter, attempting to leave the solids in the pan while you do so. Then, to make ghee, you gently reheat the clarified butter and continue to cook it until a darker golden color and a nutty aroma emerges. After that, store the mixture in jars. As far as I can tell, the Trader Joe's stuff just uses the word ghee as a marketing ploy. It is not ghee from what I gather its product is described as nutty and dark by its manufacturer.
I am sorry, but I have no information about the label.

Selected User Reviews For Trader Joe's Clarified Butter (Ghee), 8oz.
Ghee is relatively new to me, but I have used it for at least a year, and I usually buy the Purity brand. I thought I would try TJ's because I love their products. According to one of the reviews, it deserved one star. As far as I can tell, it should not be so oily and lumpy. There is no doubt that the purity brand is reliable. It is made up of pure butterfat, which is spreadable as water and milk solids have been removed. My experience with this was exactly as I expected, and I didn't read the reviews as often as I normally do, so I wouldn't have been surprised. The taste of this isn't appealing to me I am disappointed.
Purchasing this product was a wise move since it is compatible with a Whole30 diet. Ghee and clarified butter sold in health food stores have the same quality as this product. The taste is similar to regular butter, although it lacks the same richness as normal butter. It can be substituted for butter in any situation but it doesn't have the same richness as regular butter.
Clarified butter (not all of which is ghee) is supposed to be pure butter fat with no water or milk solids. Melted butter at this price is barely more than a premium. I only had about 2 ounces of actual ghee in the end after straining the milk solids. Buying it is a mistake!.
My experience with Amazon was positive - I was able to buy what I needed for a ketogenic diet, but this was much smaller than what I expected. The size of the canister is smaller than a standard jar of jelly and larger than a canister of bubbles from a dollar store, which is on me to explain, but to help anyone else, it's smaller than a standard jelly jar. The amount I will need is unknown since it is just the beginning of the diet, so it may end up being exactly what I need. In the event that you already use a lot of ghee as a part of your recipes, you might prefer to purchase a 16-ounce.
As for the product itself, I can say nothing but good about it. This is the fat I rely on to obtain my low carb diet's necessary fats instead of regular butter. It is a good idea to consider buying from an actual Trader Joe's store if they are reasonably close to you. It may be a lot more expensive to go to the store if you don't have a chance to come to it, but there are some things that you will be prepared to pay twice for availability and convenience. Tree stars for me have only to do with.
In my opinion, it could have been bigger for the price paid. The recipe I used it for served its purpose for the very specific dish I was making. It was difficult to tell the difference between regular butter and this As soon as it solidified in the fridge, getting out of the container was a bit difficult.
This was wonderful when I used it on homemade popcorn. Afterward, I poured it over the popcorn after melting it on the stove. I loved the way the popcorn stayed crispy (not soggy) and it tasted great since it was flavored with butter. It melted completely clear,.
I got this and it leaked all over the box and even though it has been a couple weeks it is still separated and gross-looking (the usual solid ghee I've used in the past does not do this). So far, I have yet to use it.
