This does not sound right to me. The flour should be flavorless and have no sour taste. If you do use it, I would avoid using it because

According to Bob's Red Mill, if you want to get the best results from their product, you need to use it by its "use by" date, however I keep my product in the freezer, which prolongs it's shelf life.

Pakoras baked in this way turn out great

My preferred way to prepare chickpea flour is to use it for frying pakoras, which are fried veggie fritters that are dipped in batter and deep-fried A fried egg. Since I'm aging and have been forced to reduce my fat intake, I've needed to cut back on deep fried foods My recent learnings have led me to make baked pakoras instead of fried foods. Mix the chickpea flour and water with a few spices, then make a batter It mostly consists of salt, cayenne, hing, turmeric, and coriander powder, but sometimes there are fresh dry-eyed onions, too. You can also season this dish with roasted sesame seeds, although there are many other ways to do so. Once I have my cake batter, I add maybe 1/4 cup TSBP of another healthy oil like olive or sesame, and then using a whisk, mix it into the batter. Blend some finely chopped veggies into batter, and then add them to the batter Stir together cauliflower, broccoli, cabbage, green peppers, zucchini, kale or any combination thereof, then spoon out onto a cookie sheet about half an inch apart (I can usually fit 12 to 16 portions onto a large sheet), and bake at 375 degrees for about 25 It is delicious as a savory dish, or can be eaten by itself as a full meal. If I serve with sour cream, or chutney, I usually serve a dip made with it. The thing about chickpea flour is that it is high in protein. After consuming it, you can become thirsty for several hours. When it comes to breaded veggies or pakoras, whether baked or fried, garbanzo flour makes the best batter I have ever tasted. It can also be made into laddu, which is a delicious sweet preparation that tastes similar to peanut butter The recipe is similar to butter fudge, (but much tastier). It does require a lot of butter, so if you need to cut back on fat, you may not want to make it. The fact that this bean flour can be used both for salty savory dishes as well as a sweet gourmet dessert is quite amazing. Chickpea flour is something I keep on hand and I've had good results with a brand I found To get this type of flour, I used to have to go to an Indian specialty store.

Red Mill does an excellent job with pre-ground bean flour, although it's not much to look forward to I prefer sifting it (it won't clump in batter the way I'm used to gram besan flour clumping This doll is almost double the cost of gram besan, but you can tell that the quality is better as far as consistency and texture go. Bean flour, like all bean flours, has a high fiber and protein concentration, and is low in starch, which results in a healthier product. Here are some tips on how to use it The worst flour to use as a substitute for wheat flour- It is best not to use yeast for breads, though, since the Thin batters are much better than thick ones. One good use of bean flour is to make crepes (use a normal crepe recipe but substitute bean flour for wheat flour, omit egg, and fry pancakes at a lower temperature for a bit longer to eliminate beany flavor). After you fill it, you can top it with whatever you like. I like topped with farmer's cheese and honey for dessert.

I tried it on a whim and got my first bag of this flour from my local AJ's The texture is nutty yet bread-like, so give it a try soon! Traditional flour is far less healthy than this. It costs me the same as 1 22oz pack locally, so you get 4 packs for the price. It keeps in the freezer for a long time, and you can mix less liquid with the flour to make a pizza crust or bread, or more liquid with the flour to make a pancake batter consistency and use it for I really like how versatile she is!.
