Regular self-rising flour (such as Pillsbury) is not the same as boxed cake flour. br>You only use boxed cake flour when a recipe specifically calls for it; I only have one cake recipe out of a hundred that calls for it (it's for coconut cake—an old family recipe). br>Self-rising flour is made with ingredients that help it rise.
Sorry, but I've never bought this product; I've only bought the 6-pack. Softasilk Cake Flour comes in a package. The expiration date for those boxes is October 12th, 2022. I hope this has been of assistance.
I haven't tried it yet, but this is the best gluten-free flour I've come across, and believe me, I've tried a lot. I use this gluten-free flour for everything I used to use regular flour for.

I'm trying to adapt a more gluten-free diet because I'm new to having a wheat allergy. I don't have to give up my favorite breads or pasta dishes because I live a free lifestyle. It's an understatement to say this has been a challenging transition. Until I came across this product in the store, the sheer number of ingredients required to make good gluten-free bread at home seemed overwhelming. I made a small batch of bread and it turned out to be fantastic. It was a fantastic find, both in terms of texture and flavor. I was ecstatic to find it in larger quantities on Amazon because local stores only had it in small quantities, and my family eats homemade breads on a regular basis. My pantry is now stocked and ready to use. Everyone is pleased because the shelves are well stocked. That is very kind of you.
The only flaw is that the image depicts a 2 pound (32 ounce) bag, but the product description states a 24 ounce bag. So don't judge a book by its cover. I'm a big fan of the bread flour.
I've tried a lot of gluten-free flours, and this one is by far the best! It's great for deep frying as well as making fantastic desserts. These are the best gluten-free wings I've ever had! Because it's difficult to come by in stores, I order it online. I've previously purchased it from other vendors, and the packaging was poor and the bags leaked, but this six-pack arrived in a box with no leaks. This company has made a positive impression on me.
UPDATE: For the reasons listed below, I originally gave it one star. They did, however, send me a brand new box containing six items since then. They got their money back after I gave them a bad review! br>br>I was excited about this deal because it promised six in a pack, and it even says so on the box, for a great price, but only five arrived. I'm in a lot of pain.
If you don't mind buying and storing in bulk, this is a good deal for the home baker.
I didn't realize how much of a difference softassilk makes until I tried it. I no longer use any other ingredients in my cakes. Makes Duncan Hine's cakes taste as good as they look.
The flour leaked into the box because one of the bags was not completely closed (see photos). I'm no longer able to use this bag, which makes me doubt Pillsbury's quality control. You'd think a major brand would be able to deliver more.
I don't usually order flour in bulk, but I needed enough for two recipes. I figured it was worth it to order the six bags because most flours (new) have at least six months before they expire. All of the bags were covered in flour when I received the order, and the date of expiration was April 2022. This gives me three months to put everything to good use. It's ridiculous! I'd return it, but I need to finish baking my cakes by tomorrow so that I can decorate them the next day. So, if you order this flour, keep in mind that you may need to use it quickly. This is not something I would order again. It's a shame, because I think this is one of the best gluten-free flours for baking, and none of the stores near me carry it any longer.
