Excellent ANZAC Biscuits were made
5/5

Arielle, my sweet, adoring granddaughter, requested that my lovely wife, Linda, make ANZAC biscuits for her birthday, which is coming up in less than 48 days. br>As a former history teacher, I feel compelled to explain how these delectable cookies came to be. br>For many years, Anzac biscuits have been associated with the Australian and New Zealand Army Corps (ANZAC), which was founded during World War I. Because the ingredients do not spoil easily and the biscuits kept well during naval transportation, wives and women's groups sent them to soldiers serving overseas. br>Anzac Day is a national day of remembrance in Australia and New Zealand that honors all Australians and New Zealanders who have served and died in all wars, conflicts, and peacekeeping operations, as well as their contributions and sacrifices. Anzac Day was established to commemorate ANZAC soldiers who fought against the Ottoman Empire at Gallipoli during World War I. It is commemorated on April 25 every year. br>At the risk of overwhelming you with information. When I was a knob at The Citadel in 1965, I bought the beer mug on the left. While serving as a lieutenant in Germany in 1971, I "liberated" the beer stein on the right. The statute of limitations, in my opinion, has long since passed. Both have become much more useful as kitchen utensil storage. br>Linda's recipe: 1 cup oatmeal 14 cup boiling waterbr>34 cup desiccated coconut (unsweetened)
1 12 teaspoon baking sodabr>1 cup flourbr>4 oz. 1 cup sugarbr>2 tbsp. butter butter and golden syrupbr>Combine butter and golden syrup in a small saucepan over low heat and stir until melted. In a large mixing bowl, combine the oatmeal, coconut, flour, and sugar. Combine the baking soda and boiling water, then add it to the melted butter mixture and stir in the dry ingredients. Spread out on a greased cookie sheet to allow for spreading. Preheat oven to 300°F and bake for about 18 minutes. It will take 20 minutes. br>*This was purchased on Amazon.

WONDER- FULL! I've never had better shredded coconut! The flavor is fantastic, despite the fact that it is unsweetened
5/5

It's finely shredded, unlike most unsweetened shredded coconut. This, I believe, is one of the reasons the flavor is so strong. It also remains moist. I know it sounds strange, but when I need a snack, I throw this in a bowl and eat it with a spoon. The sweeter it becomes the longer you chew it. It's free of gluten. free and low-cost Carbohydrates and fiber are both present in this dish. It'd be fantastic on cereal, in oatmeal, and, of course, in baked goods. I've just placed another order for it and am looking forward to receiving it. It helps me stay on track with my low-carb diet. Diet low in carbs.

Tasteless and devoid of moisture - This is unsatisfactory
3/5

I've probably tried a dozen brands of shredded coconut from local grocery stores, farmer's markets, and health food stores. br>br>I ordered this product out of curiosity and due to its low price, and it is by far the worst of all the shredded coconut brands! br>br>It's dry, I can't chew it, and it has no taste. I don't know what to do with it and can't return it because of the vendor's policy. br>br>I'm very disappointed.

Was not shredded in any way
3/5

What I can say is that the product was very fresh and had some flavor to it when it arrived. It was not, however, clearly shredded. I couldn't use it in holiday cookies that called for shredded coconut because it was pulverized, which probably took away from the flavor. It might have worked if it had been truly shredded, so perhaps I got a bad batch? I left feedback for the seller, but have yet to receive a response. Because stated is unable to return, I am out a substantial sum of money.

Poor product packaging (terrible seals) despite a good product selection
3/5

I bought five of them. Due to a new dietary restriction, Anthony's has discontinued 6 products in the last two weeks. br>br>Benefits: br>br> There's a lot of organic options, and the product selection is excellent.
CONS: The bags' seals are of poor quality and simply do not work. When I first opened one of the bags (shown here), the seal had already been torn off the side. (I tried everything I could to get the rest to seal back up, but it wouldn't. ) Basically, they don't work as "resealable" bags, which I was hoping for because I don't have many large containers on hand.

This is one you should purchase
5/5

I immediately opened it after receiving it. I was apprehensive about ordering coconut shreds online because I dislike the larger, "moist" varieties and was concerned that they would be the same. These are ideal because they are dessicated and the shred size is just right; I love to use them as a topping for my açai bowl, as a base for pie crusts, and even to make my own coconut butter. I also got a huge delicious whiff of coconut when I opened them, which indicates that they are fresh. I'll buy from you again without a doubt!.

For me, this is ideal
4/5

Because of the "negative" reviews, I decided to buy it. For years, I used Bob's Red Mill macaroon coconut, until they raised the price to more than twice what it had previously been. Since then, I've been on the lookout for a new job. For my recipes to work, I needed shredded coconut that was very finely cut and very dry. I use it in macarons, candies, Popsicles, no bake cookie balls, traditional cookies, and cakes, among other things! br>br>Price is slightly higher per ounce than Bob's was, but it's still a bargain compared to the new price, and I'm glad it's back. br>br>There is no mush, no hay length shreds, and no nasty preservatives in this product. Today, I made Popsicles and no-bake cookies. I can't wait to eat them.

Instead of shredded coconut, it appears to be powdered
3/5

I was hoping to make coconut shrimp with this product, but the coconut looked more like powdered or grated coconut than visible flakes. None of the coconut pieces are larger than a pen tip. It's also extremely dry and flavorless. I have no idea what I'll do with 2 pounds of this.
