It may not be a warning, but in a 28 oz can there are 16oz or a little more liquid. It is not worth the money, the product is fine, it just costs way too much.

N. is very much like this. The Little Italy of New York City. I had a great time serving it to my dinner guests. There was no doubt it would be a big success. It was my first time making this dish so I watched a few cooking videos on YouTube. In order to make the scungilli very tender, they need to be in the red sauce for less than a minute while the sauce is still hot and is still cooking. Make sure the scungilli are clean before cooking them. Red sauce that includes onions and garlic is what I made. In a separate pot, the scungilli were cooked and drained. After they were cooked and drained, they were put into the sauce in a deep bowl, stirred, and ladled over the pasta. In addition to me, the YouTube chefs used the LaMonica brand. My usual usage of this product during the holidays has been affected by the lack of quality of the Lamonica brand. Although the conch inside these cans has been of good quality and tasted great, I am concerned about the expiration date of the product. Although the website claimed it was good for 3 years, when I looked at Lamonica's website I discovered that it was only good for another year. It has been five If the item has been sitting around somewhere before it gets to the reseller, it means it has been sitting around for a while. It was exactly the situation I was worried.
Scungilli/conch has always been a favorite of mine since I was introduced to it years ago via conch fritters and conch salad on an island in the Bahamas. After visiting Key West, it became one of my favorite lunches at our local family Italian restaurant when it was served with Scungilli, Linguini, Olive Oil, and Garlic for years to come. Oh my! This looks YUMMY! Sadly, it is overfished, as a result of serious overfishing. I like scrungilli a bit chewy and it has a mild flavor, so it's just right for me. In this can, there is 1/2 brine and about 2 solid cups of slices and pieces of Scungilli (not ALL slices). Due to the price, I may not be able to indulge myself in it again. I may have to settle for a pasta meal with scallops or shrimp instead. Sorry to hear that!.
My father used to buy conch in the shell and remove the flesh from the shells in the backyard when I was a little girl. The fact that fresh conch is hard to find today AND that you have to cook it to perfection is proof enough that Scungilli salad is one of my favorite things to make with it. It's been added to seafood salads and chowder, and I've chopped it up to use in a salad. The Italian girl's pantry would not be complete without it.
