This is a live, moving creature! It is hard to believe that there is a thing called kefir water, but there is one
5/5

Milky kefir was all I was aware of until recently since health food stores sold it occasionally. It intrigued me to imagine a simple device that could make my life easier. My goal was to make kefir water, so I purchased these grains in the hopes that the probiotic water would improve my My package arrived quickly, so I unpacked it as soon as possible because they are perishables. I didn't know what to expect, but it seemed like the grains were brightly fresh. Because this was my first experience making kefir water, I was more nervous than I normally am. It doesn't take much for me to kill a plant. Although I realize these aren't plants per se, I was afraid I was going to kill them right away. As soon as I had unpacked the grains, I placed them in a bowl of room-temperature water Let the water rest for 20 minutes at room temperature I received a call 30 minutes late. As a resident of an area with a good mineral line, it makes me feel privileged The rich and the non-rich The chlorinated waters of - Since it was a really hot day, I used tap water instead of bottled When the boots were in soaking water, I dissolved some pure unrefined cane sugar with a small clump of old-fashioned laundry detergent in warm tap water As per the directions, I spread brown sugar over molasses and added a tablespoon. The grains were soaked long enough that I strained them and transferred them to a large mason jar after they were soaked. It took me about half an hour to fill the jar Added fresh tap water (tepid), then added sugar water dissolved in water, topped up the jar with more tap water, and stirred gently with a wooden spoon how and where you like it. As I did not have a lid, I placed the jar in a dark pantry, added a dab of baking soda, replaced the cloth, and let it sit for about an additional 36 hours before exploring its natural waters. The liquid had a mildly vinegar taste at first There is water made from sweet fruits. By the third day, most of the sweetness was gone, and a sharp tang replaced it. In my mind, I assumed this meant the second step was ready. As I strained out the grains, I was surprised and delighted to see that they had nearly doubled in size. My only mistake was not to kill seemed to enjoy their new surroundings. During this time, I put the grains in a bowl of fresh tap water to rest, but I transferred the dark, tangy liquid into a second My brew with mango, half of a cut up lemon, and vanilla extract was stored in a jar with a hinged lid or a lid that can be popped open and closed frequently over the next 24 hours to remove Once the marrow is rested in clear tap water for 20 to 30 minutes, you can remove it with a brush. In 30 minutes, the grains went back into something similar to sugar water except this time there was only pure cane sugar. In the future, I hope there will be a lighter colored brew, one that is not quite so dark and dense as this Some grains floated at the top of the first brew when I went to decant it, so I separated them and bit into one hesitantly. As far as taste and texture go, it is like a mild rice, kind of gummy. I ate up all the floaters, and at some point, I might blend them and put them in a smoothie or mix them with yogurt or other such things. After being surprised that the mango added back some sweetness, the vanilla seemed to have smoothed out any overly-sweet notes. The next day, I tasted my brew again, and was delighted to discover some of the sugars had been replaced by honey. There are tangy rough edges to this recipe. Having declared the job done, I poured myself a glass of wine spritzer over ice. It tasted similar to a fruity, mildly sweet wine. I love it! Despite my picky 84 year old mother's dislike of tea, she liked her glass! Other reviewers had warned that the first couple of batches may not be as good as later batches, but I would describe my first batch as I am curious how this next batch will turn out, but if the grains double again, I am going to be in some As for me, I'm already trying to figure out which friends I'll give some to, but if nothing else I'll feed them to my plants and cats and to the outside critters, and of course eat a little for You are doing a great job! While I'm relieved that I only have to worry about what to do with all these extra grains, rather than worrying that they will be squished, I am also delighted that I have to figure out how to store That worry was a waste of time, they're cheered up and happy! It sounds a little too exuberant to me, but I'm all for that joie de vivre, if they can pass it on! In terms of quality, Florida Sun Kefir's product stands out. It's apparent that they put a lot of thought and care into ensuring that healthy grains are offered, as well as the safe delivery of those grains. Greetings! Many thanks for your help. It sure would be helpful if you have more friends than I do, to take those extra grains off your hands if you decide to purchase. You will need your phone book handy. Also related to this, the other night I was researching water kefir grains, and I learned that it isn't possible to They have been around for centuries There is mystery surrounding the ancient origins of these items. In order to propagate them, all you need to do is create This means that when you purchase these grains and pass them on to others, you're contributing to the life cycle of this mysterious plant. Until I have a chance to experience the benefits, it's too soon to tell if daily consumption has any impact on my health. I'll let you know in a month or two. Wishing you the best of luck with your kefir!.

Those who want water kefir grains can get them from Florida Sun Kefir
5/5

I waited to write a review until I knew if these water kefir grains would work. The truth is, they are doing the job, and keep multiplying. Taking three days for them to wake up and get started was actually quite impressive. In the first few batches, the sugar water was changed twice, and the resulting gummy candy was bland and tasteless. Since the grains began multiplying, however, I have become a believer in the fabulous flavor and fizzy action of water kefir. Generally, I use two-thirds to one-half white sugar and the rest raw sugar, as well as himalayan salt and baking soda. ". The palm sugar grains became smaller and looked stagnant after I tried it, a sign they didn't care for it as much. It does not appear to be a good idea to do that, according to Florida Sun Kefir. The instructions for Florida Sun Kefir are very good. I suggest you follow them carefully. As I mention in the earlier part of this post, I flavor with frozen concentrated juices after brewing. One can to a gallon and a half of kefir is just right. It's not too sweet, and if you leave it on the counter for a few hours, you get a nice tang as the grains begin to break down the sugars in the juice. Florida Sun Kefir is VERY HAPPY with this product. I would rate it 5 stars. Because the seeds are multiplying beyond that which I can use anymore, I will share them with friends and donate some live grains to them!.

The Tibicos are instantly alive when they are moist
5/5

They are top notch! This is a live tibico. They were grown in our pantry by my roommate in graduate school who brought them back from Mexico. Because she was always glowing and swears by them for health, I think they are a good product. I would like to reverse engineer a mojita lime mint drink instead of buying Kevita at $4 / bottle. The grains seemed to have expanded after my first brew of 48 hours. 64 oz of the product was used. There are 2 ounces of Poland spring water and 1/2 cup brown sugar in the recipe. Additionally, I am doing a secondary fermentation with strawberries, lime, mint, lemon, and ginger in different amounts. I really like this product. Shipping was fast and it arrived as described. Your help is greatly appreciated!.

Our grains are the healthiest on the net! Because I live far away from the store, I was reluctant to purchase In the past, I purchased dehydrated grains from cultures for health, but they never produced well, even one year after purchase
5/5

My grain purchase was made on a Monday night, so they shipped and delivered the following day to a secondary shipping company, which would then dispatch them to me (by air). The packages spent three days in the post, but they arrived at the warehouse of the secondary shipping company on Friday night, so I couldn't pick them up. The company does not operate on the weekends, so I had to wait until the following Monday to pick up my materials. Having reached this stage, I expected the grains to be no longer viable, but I couldn't be more wrong. **Note that, after staying out of a sugar solution for six days, during which they sat in a hot warehouse for two days, the grains were then returned to a sugar solution. Kefir has been consistently delicious since we started making it! Activity increased as the number of brews increased, and that is when the number of visitors increased as well. My first batch of kefir, made by following the recipe provided (sugar and spring water) was the best I've The drink is fizzy and refreshing like a sparkling beverage. The grains have been growing in my pantry for a week and a half now! This is my first purchase from you, and I am delighted. If I purchased again, I would happily purchase again, but I doubt I would have to purchase again with the detailed care instructions provided.
