It is great to have water kefir grains in the house- It seems as if they double every day, and they are super happy because they get fed every minute I put some brown sugar in the kefir and let it ferment for two days until it tastes great. I bottle it, let it cool, and then I second ferment. So many grains have built up now that I have been giving them away, composting them, or even tossing As if they were multiplying by the dozen. It doesn't seem to work for me when I use milk kefir grains for my vegan almond or coconut milk kefir-- countless people have claimed that it didn't work for them as well. My career has been very successful so far. For vegans looking for an alternative to animal products, the date paste trick is worth trying.

It's amazing to see how fast these grains grow! Poseymom sold me my first grains years ago, and they were still going strong at the time, but I dropped my jar on the tile floor and it broke. This is wonderful, and I am glad I could get more of them they are the best, and if you take care of them, they will last forever.
I have started giving them away because they have grown so much. I made both the water kefir and the milk kefir. These children are in hyper mode this summer thanks to the heat! As long as I'm getting it since I can't get enough of it! A full batch of fermented product comes out after 24 hours of fermentation on top of my refrigerator.
