It is safe for the curds to arrive when they are There are many. There is no way to describe how fresh they are. These are among the best chips they've ever had (experts). The family members we gave them to raved about how "soft and creamy" they are. Squeaks are also another thing they tell us they have, just like fresh cheese curds. The other weekend, I made three gallons of beef stock and had been angling to use some of it. In Connecticut we have had difficulty finding anyone who sells cheese curds, so I thought first of poutine gravy. The product of interest caught my eye online, so I decided to give it a shot. In terms of shipping, the cheddar product was pricey, but nevertheless it was going to be used for poutine, so worth the price. After ordering, the product arrived in a small styrofoam container complete with a freeze pack in three days. When I tried some I was surprised that it was very fresh and squeaked just the way it should. It has a great Using a 4 cup measuring cup, I divided everything into six 8 oz portions (roughly 1 12 to 2 cups each), vacuum sealed and frozen In the evening my wife, son, and I ate the sixth portion of cheese curds in a poutine I prepared for I think all of us were very happy with how it turned out and made the whole process worthwhile by working an additional half hour today. If the frozen portions turn out almost as good, I would buy it again without a doubt.
It is much better to purchase the Canadian curds from Montreal, which cannot be acquired online, since they are fresh and warm right from the maker of the cheese. The pieces of this American version are much too big and they are not as tasty as the Canadian curds from Montreal.
It was fast, but real curds squeak on teeth sometimes, so maybe it was better to let them warm up a little. However, I did not have to go to the North just to get these.
I received these as a gift, but the family ate 3 pounds of cheese curds in two days, so I trust that they were as delicious as I anticipated. They arrived right on time, as well.
Whenever I lived in Wisconsin and I was a kid, I used to get them Frisch aus dem Käsereibetrieb. I live now in California and I can't seem to find them anywhere (not the real ones anyway). goodness I was able to find them.
