Questions & Answers
It does work with WMC on an Xbox 360, but the setup isn't ideal. There is no green button / start button to return to the main WMC menu, for example. As a result, getting to Recorded TV from Live TV is a little more difficult. A Live TV button, on the other hand, is present. I've had to resort to a workaround that entails switching to Recorded TV first, then to Live TV, when the system boots up. That way, I can return to Recorded TV by pressing the back button. It irritates me, but I suppose I can live with it for $10.
I believe it employs infrared or radio frequency technology. It doesn't necessitate the use of Bluetooth. However, with the Xbox 360, it works both ways.
Yes, you can watch it on DVD or online.
It should work because it did with my Rca, so give it a shot. It won't turn on/off the TV or adjust the volume, but it's great for apps!

I bought it so that my wife could watch Amazon Prime Video on our Xbox 360 while I played Xbox One games. It performs admirably as a remote control. I can use it to scroll through the Xbox 360 menus, control videos that are playing (we mostly use DVDs or Amazon Prime), turn the TV on and off, and adjust the volume of the TV. This will make you happy if you don't like using a controller for movies and then a separate TV remote for volume control. It performs admirably in terms of functionality. The only reason I gave it four stars instead of five is that the instructions for getting it to work with the Xbox 360 are outdated. It provides written instructions for connecting your TV to it, but no instructions for pairing the remote with the Xbox 360. In the video on the Microsoft website, the guy even claims that it will automatically 'work' with the Xbox, and he spends the majority of his time showing you how to sync it with your TV. After about 30 minutes of research and troubleshooting, I came across a website that claimed there was a specific setting in the XBOX system settings that needed to be changed in order to use the remote. That appears to have been a change that occurred at some point in the past. I understand that the instructions that came with the remote are out of date, assuming that the update was released after the remote was manufactured, but Microsoft should at the very least update their website so that inaccurate information is not distributed. I'm glad I bought it in the end. Life is better with a happy wife.
Neither of these options is viable. I bought one remote, installed the batteries, and pressed the X button as directed. There was no action taken. I contacted Amazon customer service, who attempted to troubleshoot and contact the manufacturer but were unsuccessful. There isn't any answer. br>br>I tried replacing the batteries with new ones (rather than the two that came with the remote), but it still didn't work. br>br>Given the price, I don't think it's worth my time and effort to go back. As a result, I placed a second order for the following reasons: "How likely is it that you'll get a second broken remote?" "br>br>I followed the instructions and pressed the X button on the second one. There was no action taken. br>I tried new batteries, but they were still ineffective. Strange. br>br>I think this is my first negative review. br>br> br>In any case, I wish you better luck.
The controller, on the other hand, was one of my least favorite aspects of the game. Because the battery would always run out so quickly, I had to turn it off after each use. It was inconvenient, to say the least. It was a nightmare to get around in. A remote was something I was looking for. Something that didn't need to be turned on and off, but was always available for me to use. So this Media Remote came highly recommended by my husband. It's precisely what I was looking for. I was even able to pair it with my television, reducing my number of remote controls to just one. I don't have to go through the hassle of looking for multiple remote controls every time I want to watch TV. If all you want to do is watch television, this is the remote you're looking for. Whether it's Hulu, Netflix, or Windows Media Player, there's something for everyone. It's incredibly easy to use, and you have access to all of the xBox controller's buttons.
This remote performs admirably in the majority of situations, and it quickly and automatically learned the program on my Sony television. I've only used it for a couple of weeks to control the playback of recorded videos using my new Xbox 360's media extender feature. However, I've used it extensively with numerous World Cup, Tour de France, and other recordings, as well as all or most of the media center functions. When compared to an old HP Windows Media Center remote I have from an 8-year-old computer, it's a lot better. now a year old- back- I prefer the compact and appealing design of this Microsoft remote to that of your HP PC. I prefer the HP's larger directional control/pad, especially the center execution button, which is larger and raised. The slicker integrated concave design is too prone to errors, most notably when I press the center rather than a direction. I'd also like to see a larger back button, possibly up near the play controls, but that's a long-term goal. In comparison to the directional pad, this is my second choice. My new remote's pause/play button does not work consistently, which is the only operational flaw I've discovered - It doesn't always respond, especially when I'm fast-forwarding, especially after a significant forward, in which case the video will remain on FF for an extended period of time or until the recording is finished. It's possible that having separate play and pause buttons would be a better design. For the time being, everything else works fine; it earns four stars, and I intend to keep it because it appears to be the nicest remote on the market. If my operation issues are due to inexperience, I will update my review and raise my rating.
UPDATE: On 11-11, I made a purchase. The year 2015 came to an end on the third of December. 2016 This remote has taken a couple of minor falls from the coffee table to the hardwood floor, which is about 2 feet away. I replaced the batteries three times and changed the xbox settings from both remotes to xbox 360 media remote only, thinking it was a simple battery issue. My TV and Xbox no longer work with the remote. I'd like to say the remote was great when it worked, but the IR has to be very close to the xbox console to work at all, so I'm going to make room on my computer desk for a bulky xbox 360 controller that can change the xbox to the next tv show every 40 minutes without me having to get up! br>br>I really like how easy it is to use this remote. Right now, I have both an Xbox 360 and a PlayStation 3. I took the remote out of the box, inserted the batteries (which were included), and it worked immediately. I had to go into settings on my PS3 remote and then hold a couple of buttons until it recognized it. However, I am dissatisfied with the Xbox 360 I purchased, so I will return it and look for a replacement.
This remote allows me to watch DVDs (or any other media) on my Xbox 360 without having to navigate with a regular controller, which can be a bit cumbersome. I only wish I had gotten one a long time ago. There's nothing to worry about when it comes to setup, and there's no need to sync the remote with the controller: It switches on whichever console is closest to it.
