In order to replace a Lepai LP-122 amplifier, I recently purchased this SMSL amplifier It is a 2020A+ amplified circuit. The upgrade in both build quality (metal knobs instead of plastic, and a nicer looking case) and sound (less harsh) is very welcome. I, however, have no indication of any damage to the drive, nor were there any.
