Questions & Answers

Can you tell me what is the maximum power consumption of the machine? My search for the information did not yield any results. Thanks so much?

If all five channels are driven at the same time, 125 Watts will be output at 8 ohms and 180 Watts will be output In the example above, channel 1, 3, and 5 are connected, and the total power is 200 watts at 8 ohms and A 160 Watt output would be output for channels 1, 2, 4, and 5. A 220 Watt output would be output for channel 5. This note applies In addition to additional 6 to 10dB gain from using balanced XLR cables, your Receiver should have a Balance Differential connection so that the Amplifier and Receiver can be connected with a balanced differential connection. A brief summary of the power requirements is below The voltage should be 120VAC, plus or minus A 50Hz / 3% The maximum output all five channels are at 4 ohms, 900 watts RMS can be achieved, and 1500 watts peak can be achieved.

The power supply of the XA5180 is three-prong, does the ground actually work, and if so, how is it used?

It appears that the power plug used is a three prong plug, but the grounding is not apparent. The XA5180 had to be powered up by an additional step-up voltage converter I bought locally since I am from Singapore. In addition to the 3 prong plug, the voltage converter also features the following.

How will I connect the trigger to my Denon receiver? The connection on my receiver does not work. ?

By switching the switch from trigger to signal, it will turn on as soon as it senses a signal from the receiver

The output on my TV receiver is RCA (left and right). I don't have an XLR output. I want to connect this OSD to the receiver, how can I do that?

Ideally, this should be used with AV receivers that support multichannel output, and the receiver is still decoding the surround and sending discrete channels as output, like The OSD unit is unable to decode surround channels, so it will still just be "left and right" if you use it to power speakers. Be aware that the OSD unit does not decode surround channels, so it'll still just be "left and right". Magically, the number 5 does not appear. that is not a concern, then if your goal was 5, then you will be good to go. If your sound card has a single channel, then a discrete multichannel amplifier (decoder) is needed. This may be of some help to you.

Despite its overpriced status, this property is a hidden gem
5/5

In a nutshell Exceptional amplifier, no strange noises, reliable, easy to use, and performs as well as amps two times the price. This OSD is a hidden gem, and will probably only be avoided by audiophiles but mostly those buying multiple amps. Due to the name, amplifiers sold for tens of thousands of dollars. The home theater in our house has been upgraded to a 7-screen installation. For our four-way setup, we wanted to run our atmos speakers with an external amplifier. At first, I purchased a much more expensive amplifier in hopes it would have an emotional tone Sadly, it was a bit of a disappointment with respect to power. This was a wise choice, even though the sound was excellent. My original intention was to upgrade to a larger (more channels), more powerful amplifier, but was put off by the high cost of doing so. As a side note, I wasn't a big fan of the sound at the bottom of the "professional" amplifiers, so that doesn't win the crown (wink) here. In order to go in for the purchase of a 5-channel amplifier, I felt like an Outlaw at the time (wink). Earlier this week, I ran across this OSD Black amplifier and the specs match what I was looking for, but I was concerned about buying something that wasn't as well

However, even before it was installed I could tell the build quality was A+, as it weighed in at about 50 pounds (ish) and had quality connections for audio and video. It is incredible what quality the sound is - I'm blown away by its sound quality - I have tried much more expensive options before and this was easily comparable. There is no hum or hiss, nothing at all Color sound is not present in this system. Driving 3 channels (8 ohms) it easily drowns out my 150 watt processor (driving 3 channels @ 8 ohms) at the same level of volume. It appears very well designed and well engineered, but I have not owned it for a long time yet so I cannot comment on its longevity. In my setup, the LR channels are driven from the processor through a balanced (XLR) connection, while the C channel is driven from the mid-splitter It is not necessary to use the same type of cable for each channel (RCA for one input, XLR for another you don't need all inputs to have the same type). Both grade RCA cables are equally good and can be combined. It works great to adjust the power based on signal strength. Since this amplifier has incredible power and presence, I decided to use it instead of the atmos elevation - this gives my front stage an incredible powerful and powerful presence Other amplifiers I have tested had not shown anything like this. The amplifier has really impressed me. I'm sorry for the book, but I'm really glad it is here. When you are on the fence, either because of the brand, reviews, etc. , decide to go with the other option. Don't hesitate. Get off the fence before they are going to up the price (assuming it is still at the beginning of getting the name/reviews out there and it is likely to become more costly). If you don't really need to show off your amp stack to your friends, it won't be a problem unless you choose to make it the center of attention. If they're going to hear something stellar, I'd much rather have them hear something of such a high quality and tell them I spent 1/4 on it.

It is awesome to own an OSD A5500 Black amp! We just got this unit and it was set up in under 20 minutes
5/5

That's so cool! It is much easier to hear sound separation with just the receiver than it is with just the transmitter. There's not a lot of need to push the volumes up near as high to get enough power out of My AV receiver is the Denon AVR-32 A 5-inch screen in an x4500h This is the setup for four computers. A friend of mine has an Elac One- FI Ub5 for front left and right speakers, Klipsch center and left and right surround speakers, and Klipsch power subs for the hight speakers and sub. I have the A5500 running the C, Fr, Fl, Sr, and Sub amplifiers. The label SL. just played Deep Water Horizon, and I must say it sounds great. There is no conflict of interest among the speakers. What I can say is WOW! What a great job! Before, I enjoyed it a lot just with the receiver and now, it is wonderful! I was shocked at the difference between the two. Thanks for your OSD A5500 Black! I'm very happy with it.

I have just discovered a hidden gem in the OSD XA5180
5/5

To power my Klipsch KL--27 speakers in my front LCR, I'm using this amp From 7800 to With my front heights and Klipsch pro 4800w in-room speakers, I have THX speakers The speakers are mounted on the wall. There is a receiver on my television called the Onkyo TX-34 The amplifier you are describing needs to be heard by more people, if you are reading this. This amp has never been reviewed by Audioholics or the Audiophiliac. I can't figure out why OSD doesn't offer this amplifier for review through these websites. With its small size and great features, the OSD XA5180 is an extraordinary amplifier.

WOW! What an incredible deal! I highly recommend it! My initial impression of the trigger system was that it wasn't working
5/5

In relation to the malfunction, I spotted another comment. My issue was resolved as a result of your response to their issue. The signal function, instead of using options 3 and 4, is the one I'm using. I connected a 5 mm wire to the circuit Can you please let me know why there is not a blue light around my On/Off button on the front of my unit, as mentioned in my.

A great amplifier for driving Dolby Atmos speakers as well as Auro 3D Voice of God speakers
5/5

For driving my Dolby Atmos ceiling speakers, I bought this and it works wonderfully. Also, I plan to use it to drive a 3D setup for the The amp has run without any issues, and I have no hesitation recommending it. An amp of this quality will weigh more than an amp of lesser quality. There is no distortion in the sound and it is.

It is not possible to turn on and off the 12v trigger on the A5500
3/5

This is a good product, however the on/off 12v trigger does not work on this particular The remote trigger 12v I ordered was for my setup, so I needed a remote trigger. According to the manual, there should be a blue glow on the power button, but on both items I ordered there isn't. That's too bad. If it had trigger 12v, it would've been more valuable to me.

I am 100% satisfied with this service
5/5

The product arrived in a short period of time and was well sealed. It was obvious when I took the amp out of the box that it was a beastly amp. My Denon x4500h powered right up when I hooked it up with a trigger cable. For breaking it in, it was powered by 2 Polk S55s, 2 Polk LSIM 706Cs, and 2 Emotiva Airmotiv E2s. With these Polk's I can run up to 200W per channel on the front stage and they sound pretty good! Despite the amp's shortcomings, I find myself very satisfied with it. The program is very cool to use! The receiver and the Emotiva amplifier are located in the same compartment behind a glass door. The amp never gets My personal recommendation is to buy.

An amp that delivers solid performance at a low price
5/5

I'm using this amp to run my LCR channels. The Anthem MRX 1120 I use has been set up to run the rest of my Atmos set up. Combination of the two is good. As well as running cool to warm, the amplifier runs continuously. For the price, this is a solid amplifier.
