As a first-time buyer of an AV receiver, I purchased this unit. The only Pioneer speakers I have so far come from my old PS3 and Xbox 360 audio system. When I hooked them up to the Sony receiver, I was amazed how much better they sounded. There is such a difference in the quality of the sounds coming from those pioneer speakers. As far as sound quality is concerned, I give this movie an A. I don't like that if it's set to FM radio it will turn the HDMI output off of whatever you're using and go to the radio page when you change it to FM radio. Connected to my computer, it allows me to control my home environment. It is not possible for me to surf the web and listen to the radio at the same time. Furthermore, I have a dedicated sound card configured in my computer for $200. From the sound card, the sound is better than through the GPU HDMI. Whenever I listen to music and play video games, I'll use my sound card, but when you're watching truhd or atmos, you'll need an HDMI cable. This is much better than the Logitech z906 I had to pick up. I was just a few steps away from getting the Logitech. It is very well connected. This is a powerful audio file. It was easy to set up the microphone for 1st setup. The days when I had to manually calibrate each speaker with a sound pressure lever meter are long gone. It is ideal to pass through 4K. I was frustrated that when I used my 4K DVD player, the receiver would shut down every time. Even when the volume was moderate, it got overloaded for some reason. During a period of many frustrating days, I suspected that my connection to the right front speaker was loose and that as a result, the calibration for that channel was off. This is something you should consider if you ever experience this.
The only issue I have is that the receiver cannot be connected to speakers using banana plugs. However, the rest of the book is fantastic.
