Questions & Answers

Can Dolby Vision be used with on-screen displays?

In short, yes.

What profiles of Dolby Vision is this receiver compatible with? Is it necessary to have the beta profile to use Sony TVs?

The Sony 85" Class came to me This LED-based device measures light intensity. With X900F Series 2018 with Dolby vision, Imax enhanced and Apple TV 4k for streaming, the only change I had to make on the receiver was to set the HDMI advanced setting to enhanced, as I was getting a green screen when I set Dolby vision to enhanced.

Can VRR and all be used with all HDMI ?

has Denon changed the specifications of this unit and not updated their own website to reflect the changes? Despite VRR's promise to work on all HDMI inputs, this unit is clearly listed as having (1) 8K input that offers 8K upscaling. As in, you can feed in only one 8k/60 or 4k/120 signal through In the information sheet on your website and on the back of the unit itself, it says so. According to all reviews, except those that use the term HDMI 2, the reviewers also claim this. If you claim "VRR is supported for 4K/120 or 8K/60, which is all HDMI inputs", you either don't know all HT enthusiasts and shouldn't be kept from them, or you are claiming

I use the same speakers that I used to have with my old Bose 901's &/or Bose Accumass surround system?

In this case, however, I am not using the Bose Equalizer, and only my Bose 901 speakers as front speakers.

A device of this price should deliver phenomenal sound quality and build quality That's the way it works
5/5

A few words on the subject My favorite is definitely this one. The video isn't perfect in every way, but it is exceptional in every respect. In addition to the excellent sound quality (once the receiver has been properly set up, of course), the receiver feels like it is so well constructed. There isn't a good quality remote, but at least it's a universal remote. (The receiver isn't as solid-feeling as I'd like in a receiver that costs this much. I've ever spent on a receiver, and I have to say - it was well worth it. Thanks! I have no regrets about spending the money. Those who are reading this. To set the stage, I am not the kind of person who rationalizes my purchases based on whether I liked them or not. Usually, when I spend so much money, I find reasons to regret it (yes, I should seek As soon as I heard the 6500, I started doing that because I didn't like it. My first impression was that "Dynamic EQ" was too loud and inflating the bass too much. Once I turned it off, I was much happier. A BIT ABOUT ME*I usually purchase wireless receivers in the $1000 range because these tend to give me a good balance of quality and features, and I tend to keep them for quite some time. The past summer I upgraded from a Pioneer Elite receiver to an Onkyo TX-500 Atmos receiver after nine years with the Pioneer Elite receiver It's just that I dislike the outputs for the high-tone sound speakers), and the feel of the unit (the buttons feel My earlier RX-1 was returned, so I later got a Yamaha RX-1000 for $1000 An A1080 resolution. Due to the fact that it's a 7, the Atmos, which requires 8 channel distribution, was even more restricted. In general, I am happier with receiver 1 because of the quality of the remote control, the main unit sounds better to me, and I am happier with it in general. As my experience with the A1080 had left me tempted by the RX-70, I simply couldn't resist it This 6500 is not as powerful as my 3080, but I was hoping for a full 7! I have 4 years of The AVR-X was the first thing I thought of after thinking long and hard This was the reason I chose the X4400 it could run a 7 with no issues. To calculate the rear height, run the system 2 times and then run the pre- and post-processing It had amp outputs like I wanted, and when the price dropped to $900 once the 4500 was released, I was really interested in it. However, it was the individual amplifier boards found in the 6400 that grabbed my attention, and when the 6500 was released the price dropped to $1500, I was almost tempted to purchase it. Afterward, I noticed a "Used - " It would have been awfully hard to resist. I found a "Like New" 6500 for $1700 from an authorized dealer (IQ HOME ENTERTAINMENT, whom I'd already researched) and couldn't resist. The decision I made not to is one I'm glad I made. The Yamaha is clearly no less well made, which is an impressive accomplishment seeing as they are both stunning receivers. Furthermore, it has much more capability than the Yamaha, which is to say that I will use it more often. Though I got a good deal on mine, I would have been content to buy it for $2200 if I paid full price. You can't go wrong with it. The main ratings are as follows The building quality included the following (*) LAYOUT It has a receiver rating of 5 stars, and a remote rating of 4. I'm just in love with the receiver. The back panel is a gorgeous sight to audio geeks like me, and it has a good solid feel to it. With gold plated connectors, digital and analog inputs and outputs, pre-amps, and an array of inputs and outputs It has amplifier outputs for every channel, quality binding posts for every channel, and (while this not mean much to you, it makes me very happy) it is "Made in Japan. ". In reality, the remote works fine, but it feels cheap when compared to the Yamaha remote. Yamaha's remote is nothing short of amazing, mostly because it is so easy to use. As it were, the Yamaha remote wasn't even universal, so this Denon remote is actually a lot more useful. In addition, I recommend the following settings! (*) EASY I give it five stars (especially if you hook it up to a TV or Since Denon has designed a graphical guide to set up their receivers for years, it has been very easy to follow. Chances are, you're paying a lot for the receiver, and so it isn't your first one, so you probably know how to connect all your sources. In my experience rigging up audio gear for nearly 40 years, it's all pretty easy, but Denon makes it simple for most people because it's so simple and easy. In addition to being very simple to set up, the visual menu guides you through every step of the process. You will find that Denon's higher-end models come with a mic stand that you can assemble out of cardboard (they do that on the lower-end models as well), if you do not have a tripod. The following sound quality parameters have been listed (*) I give this a 5-Star rating. I guess this is probably the most important reason why you'd buy it to begin with, and I have never been let down. Since I usually listen with my ears rather than with my eyes Although the receiver has bleeding levels, it is so clean at high levels that it is gorgeous. Being able to build this much power directly into the receiver is amazing. The amps are worth $2000 externally and I managed to run them on The other two systems had more power per channel than this one, and they sure sounded clean, I can assure you Although they weighed a lot and took up a lot of space, they were tedious to use. With this receiver, I don't need them. It's not at all a problem. It has always impressed me how Denon is able to accurately convey things like cymbal crashes with their dynamic power. This 6500 offers even more precision. Likewise, it's not just the power that makes it sound so good it's the processing as well. Whatever it is, just sounds so good. It could be the Audyssey XT32, or it could be something else. I apologize for using the word over and over again. A clean environment. As far as my ears are concerned, it sounds clear, crisp, and doesn't hurt when heard at higher volume levels because it doesn't cause In order to function (*) FEATURES Then again, it would totally depend on what you want to achieve, but for me it would be I give this a 5-Star rating. As I wanted to run a 7, I chose the Four systems can do it, but only this one can. It was important for me to have a receiver that was a true The receiver is a Y-shaped device, not an X-shaped one. It consists of two subwoofer jacks that operate at the same time. If you have multiple subs, it tests them separately during the Audyssey setup, and it even has two indicators on the front panel—one for each sub if you have multiples. I shed a tear of joy when I hear this. But seriously, with this album, it's those "little" extras that make it so special. In addition, while companies used to include learning remotes with far less expensive receivers, remotes have become extremely affordable in recent years. Therefore, it would be nice to have a universal remote that works well. Here's a suggestion Play around with the settings for the sound. I think you would anyway, but I would take your time before passing judgment on the quality of the audio. As I mentioned above, I thought it sounded weird at first since I stuck with the default recommendation of turning on Dynamic EQ. I prefer it with the Bass Off setting because that setting adds too much bass at my normal listening levels, and I actually prefer it that way. In addition to Dynamic Volume (which I think is the same as dynamic range compression), there are a few more options. Audyssey (as with every other calibration system I've used) set the crossover points differently, so I overrode the default setting and set the crossover to 80 Hz based on It's likely that I will continue to tinker with the settings in the coming days and weeks. Yeah, I paid a lot of money, I'm going to play Although it just took me a few minutes to try out different things, I'm very satisfied with how it sounds. I DON'T KNOW There is only one so far that I have noticed, which is that my Wi-Fi connection is not maintained when using this There is a Wi-Fi There is a time that I turn it off and it doesn't connect to the internet every time I try. I'm not sure if it's every time that I turn it off. Having run a hard line to it, that has proven to be quite effective. This game drops the Wi-Fi functionality, which I find disappointing Unfortunately, there is no Wi-Fi, but maybe a firmware update will fix it. By the way, I have the two antennas connected, and it's about a foot away from my access point, so I should have a strong connection. This is not really a quirk, but in the absence of a better place to say it, There is some heat generated by the machine. Neither "I burned my hand" or "so hot that my hand swelled" hot, but more toasty than my Pioneer and Yamaha (or the Onkyo) were. It's always a good idea to leave space around a receiver so it can stay cool, but I'm not sure if you want to put this into a cabinet without a door unless you have Finally, I would like to say If you want the whole 7, make sure you click here. When you don't want to run external amps and have a 4 setup, I think that this is an amazing choice. If you need a 7, I would suggest the 7 setup. This is a wonderful machine if you have the money, and I would not be disappointed even if it were Choose one of the two or five. Currently there is a 2-system. I want to shout out The one I bought was used, I remembered that I said I got it "used" IQA Home Entertainment's "LIKE NEW" is a good example. As a recommendation, I give them props. It is an authorized Denon dealer and they are rated well on Amazon. I had thought of buying from them in the past. When I contacted them with questions about the item listed as an open box, they replied that it was an open box. As a result of their quick response, I bought it, it was shipped out on the same day (on a Friday), and it arrived the next day (on a Someone did an incredible job of making it look like the box had never been opened, even if it had been. I don't know if they sent me the wrong box or what. In addition to the box being perfect, the contents were also perfect Simply put, it was a wonderful.

I love this thing! Let me tell you that this Denon 6500 is a major improvement over my Yamaha rxa 1000 I've been using for ten years
5/5

I live in awe of this thing! It was like I woke up my speakers! What clarity! How great it is to see things as they are! It is so detailed to see how the sound travels from speaker to speaker! As of now, I am using the Dolby Atmos 7 sound system. When the rain scene occurs even in the older 2016 Rambo 4k movie, it almost feels as if you're going to get soaked! Despite what everyone says, it does run hot. It keeps its temperature at any temperature effortlessly by switching to smart mode on the infinity aircam T10. My only problem with the Denon can be summed up as follows Putting it back together will take some time I need to watch every movie I've ever seen from the past so I can catch up!.

Has a power and purity that handles everything
5/5

As soon as I moved from the city, I already had a very good system with electrostatic speakers, a huge amp, and There is also a 2 KW subwoofer, HD projector, and other such equipment. *Phone me. I can't think of anything to say about my other room. During renovations of my living room, I wanted to replace an old 35-year old couch The year is The receiver on the left was an old JVC. By the way, the JVC is still working. My best choice for an audio processing processor was to have all HDMI inputs, EQ setup with microphones, power, and as much audio purity as possible - but I ended up with neither. The receiver should be able to receive. This was as close as I could get to buying a new car without spending a lot of money. My research took me months, but I ended up choosing this Denon system.
Even though its features are straightforward, I will still be learning how to use it quite some time, as even though it does everything, there are a number of lessons I have to learn first A forward-looking idea. Only problem is there are a number of them. In a nutshell, I now have a surround sound system in my living room that is far superior to so that even a better picture is produced on our TV. The option for my wife to have the ability to ask Alexa to turn on Amazon music, etc. from our Living Room system, is one she enjoys. In the past couple of days, this unit has shut down repeatedly, and I have spent a lot of time troubleshooting it. It turned out that the machine had sensed that my electrostatics were arcing/shorting at certain power levels, so it shut down automatically. There are a couple of speakers that must be fixed and they are mis-wiring The Denon saved my a$$ about 5 times before I realized the problem was that I wasn't using the right tools. I have not touched my electrostatics for a long-time, but back when I fixed stereos and TVs, as short as I do now would have destroyed some amplifiers What an amazing unit this is. Its sound is on the level of an audiophile stereo, and its power is extraordinary. Despite that the unit operates quite hot, I bought the slim fan for it to sit on top of, but I am quite certain that it is not necessary, especially because it is cold here in Chicago during the Winter, and there is ample room for this unit to breath and maintain a cool environment. There may be a need for fans during the summer. It's hard to say. The whole engineering team must be congratulated on this awesome creation!.

Currently I haven't been able to get a working one, but if I did, I would say this is the best computer out there for the money
3/5

As far as Amazon is concerned, they have taken care of me more than Denon support. Amazon at least tried replacing the product three times before briefly shutting it down due to Since I have not had success yet with this product, i assume I am unlucky, because I see great reviews of the product. The support has been useless, first they demanded hundreds of dollars worth of expensive cables, because they believed that would solve It is bizarre that they want me to pay $1500 to upgrade or send it in for a month so they can test it. All I want is a working receiver, and I am even willing to pay a deposit to get one, but support is just a joke. I have been waiting for the receiver since June 2019, but I still haven't received it.
