Having upgraded the firmware on this NVR, it's a good system. It has been almost a year since I purchased this system. In the original firmware, the system was pretty slow, and you could only view the video with the old Internet Explorer web browser or through As well as continuously logging me out, the system was blocking me from logging in. A new firmware was sent to me after I emailed support. There is a slightly faster system, it does not log me out, and you can now watch videos using the There is an app for mobile devices, but the interface is not that great. I was able to keep about 4 months of footage by using 2TB HDD, 2 cameras recording continuously at 8K. It takes about two months to set up four cameras. When viewing a 4K monitor, you will find the picture quality to be excellent. When set at 40, motion detection will pick up a bird in my yard without raising too many false alarms. If you want to reduce unwanted alerts, you can also mask the areas you are concerned about.

Compared to consumer products such as Logitech and Ring cameras, these cameras are far superior. Previously, I had logi circle cloud cameras, but I upgraded to these because the logi circle cloud cameras had severe lag and poor image quality. I also have been pleased with the customer support at Annke. There is one major problem (and the reason I give the product a 3 star rating) outdated software that has been integrated into the system. Although the PC app is fine, the Mac app is out of date. Having a web implementation is the main problem. It does this by using a deprecated netscape plugin that is no longer supported by modern browsers. Other vendors that use HIK vision software also use this. Chrome users have the option of using an IE extension to work around the problem, but this won't work on Macs. When Annke updates their browser support for live view and that they update their Mac software, I will be happy to change this rating to 5 stars.
